Ketsuki, Chance, and Anthony head towards the nearest area with significant cover - the cargo storage area of the docks. Numerous crates stand scattered about a square, providing a labyrinth of stacks. It is walled on the landward side, and it is possible to hide between the wall and the crates in such a way that anyone entering couldn’t see the hider for the crates.

Fia crouches and scrawls B6 in the dust at her feet. (11+2) There is no visible reaction on the other side of the barrier, where there is a sizeable puddle. Gunnar looks on, on edge.
’I’d say that gong means trouble. We should get somewhere with some more cover.’

"Let do that" Fia heads toward the dock and look for a good vantage point.

Chance stays where she is and observes the surroundings.

Anthony rushes quickly behind the crates, with Chance and Ketsuki standing ready to join him at any sign of trouble. Nothing moves in the storage yard, at least not that can be seen. The eerie silence that followed the gong remains - even the ‘birds’ appear to have gone silent.

Fia, meanwhile, starts to follow the barrier down to the port. She is only around halfway down to the town’s borders when Gunnar stops suddenly, placing a hand upon her shoulder and pointing up. From higher up the barrier, as if from midair, a head can be seen scanning from side to side. It doesn’t yet appear to have noticed the pair however.

Ketsuki cautiously began to sidle up the street, carefully preventing her armour from scraping on the wall she was pressed against. She had a feeling where this place would have it's core - the temple. It's always the temple.

(( Between the light coming from above and the low hidden perception roll, you can't tell much more than that it's humanoid, and that without and visible rreference points you can't say any more than that it isn't any larger than any of the main races. ))

Fia freezes, looking back at Gunnar, who seems equally uncertain. She looks back at a sudden thud, to see the creature has dropped down in front of them. It is about the same size and shape as a dwarf, but with oddly stretched arms and stunted legs, and covered in a black cloak from the neck downwards. A hood hides its head from view at first, but then the creature turns towards the pair. It’s face clearly resembles a dwarf’s but it is perfectly hairless, and twisted grotesquely. Skin stretches completely over its eyes, and its nose is reduced to slits. Its ears look almost batlike, huge in comparison to its head. It opens its mouth, revealing multiple rows of tiny, needle like teeth, and it makes a strange croaking noise. It seems to be looking at Fia and Gunnar, though with no visible eyes it’s hard to tell for sure.
Ketsuki, meanwhile, leaves Anthony and Chance in their hiding place. (18+2) She slips down the side streets, heading towards the towering temple - its twin spires stand clear over the city. She is almost halfway there, having made it this far in silence, when a pair of not quite humanoid silhouettes appears on a rooftop across the street - whilst the shape is right, their limbs and gait are strange. She freezes, and the creatures carry on without any sign of notice. They appear to be heading to the temple also.

Chance makes haste towards the temple.

Ketsuki continuing creeping on, her weapons out and ready. She murmured under her breath a quick, silent prayer to the Earth to keep her strong and silent.
