"I hear...the sea. Surely we haven't traveled far enough for water to be liquid outside? Whatever's in there, it's not going to be something you see every day."

'We're still at least a couple of days from the sea.'

(( Note: I'm trying to turn this slightly less into 'follow Gunnar,' so if anyone feels like taking the initiative....))

Ketsuki shrugged. "Then let us find out. Maybe these tunnels have some kind of enchantment."

Try to haul open the door.

Anthony shrugs.
"Hope I don't get wet then."

The door swings open, not effortlessly, but far more easily than might be expected. Beyond is.... confusing.

It is outside. The group stands on a hill overlooking a port in the sun. Behind them sits a mountain range, with the door set into the cliff behind them. Birds flit through the air, and clouds drift lazily past. The smell of fish comes from the harbour, where a small fishing boat bobs alongside a large dwarven steamer. The buildings are of a strange construction, a mix of the human architecture and the flowing lines of mira homes, but both have strangely misplaced sharp edges and corners - a feature of common dwarven construction.

"This...shouldn't be. Very suspicious. Illusion?"

Having said that, Chance looks further around, looking for signs of people living here, and any other oddities that might appear.

"Definently magic..."

Anthony tries to recall anything from his studies that may explain this.

((Hey SJM, have you ever thought of running a game of The 13th age? I think you'd like the style they were going for with it.))

(( Yeah, Fia can recognize them.))

Anthony can't think of any special explanation from his studies. Underground lakes were mentioned, but he definitely isn't underground any more. They had never even mentioned the dwarven tunnels.

((I hadn't heard of it until today, but I'll have a look into it. Cheers :) ))

"Welp, I'm clueless. Who want to go explore?"
Anthony says turning to his companions.

((Yeah, it's really based in it's world/story building.))

"Tread carefully. I have a hard time believing this to be real. I'd say there are two possibilities: one, this is an illusion set up by someone looking to ambush us, or two, a lost world deep under the ground where ancient horrors reside. I wouldn't risk exploration just yet."

Ketsuki stood and looked around for a moment, then stepped through, keeping a firm grip on the doorway. She looked up to see how the doorway appeared within the illusion.

"I've never seen something like this before."

((Is there teleportation in this world?))

(( Ah sorry, didn't notice it :/ ))

On closer inspection, the port seems oddly lacking in life. A few figures can be seen, going about their business, but nowhere near as many as would be expected.

(( Teleportation is heard of, but very rare - if anyone knows the runes they keep them a close secret, so most tales about it discuss divine or chaos magic as the origin. ))

"I think i recognize this place, it part of a mira village i visited." Fia still trail behind the other as they slowly move out of the doorway.

"Hm... Let me try something..."

Chance looks around for, picks up and throws a stone at one of the seagulls, not really to hit it, but to observe its reaction.
