In the distance, a bell rings out across the city, easily audible even at the outskirts. It pauses, before carrying one, three times in total. From the streets, those still awake can be heard bursting into a flurry of movement, rushing for their homes. A few shining helmets push against the flow, spear tips waving in the air.
Anthony and Spooner see the door to the tavern flung open, and the distinct shape of Gunnar push his way through. On his head is a copper helmet, freshly forged, but beneath it his eyes show agitation. He glances around, unable to find them with the crowd pushing against him.

Anthony maneuvers his way through the crowd to tap on Gunnar's shoulder.

Ketsueki pushed her way through the suddenly thick crowds, seeing her new companions in the tavern doorway, skirting past the strange creature.
"Here!"

Climb down and get to the tavern door.

"Hi. The drake's back, as you might see. Any ideas? The guards could probably manage by themselves, but unnecessary casualties would be very unnecessary."

’Ideas? We leave. Now. The tunnels should be the best way out - take us straight to the sea.’
Panic tinges Gunnar’s wheezing voice. Only Anthony notices the thin line of wet red showing between his helmet and his armour.

"Your hurt."
Anthony points out.

Ketsuki nodded, agreeing with Gunnar. "My only priority is to find the Saint. If we must fight, decide quickly. My defensive style is not so suited to such a beast."

'Less than I was. A few missing stitches won't kill me. Now let's move'
He coughs, a few specks of his blood spattering on his gauntlet. He wipes it on his breastplate unconcernedly, before turning and stepping out into the street. He looks back from the crowd, looking to see if anyone follows.

Follow Gunnar, reluctantly.

"Let's go, then. It doesn't feel right to leave the guards to their deaths, but none of us are exactly in shape to fight a dragon straight on, and I suppose we don't have the time for a proper plan. Brave men, they are. They are... Hold on, where are the rest? Fia, Spooner and Yozod, I mean."

'Couldn't tell you. They know where we're heading, and if they feel like joining us they can.'
He turns down a side alley, which quickly reaches a dead end. A door sits on either side, but a grate lies directly in front of the group. Gunnar tugs at it briefly, and when it fails to move, exclaims in a strange tongue.
'Elcaitor!' He turns puts his shoulder to it, before glancing over and stepping back as a pair of guards scurry pass the alley entrance. 'Any of you got a way to open this quietly?' he whispers, as he taps one of the three locks positioned around the grate.

"I could try a rune, but I'm no great mage, and I doubt it would be quiet."

"No problem. Straight away, I can think of no less than six ways to get this open. Let's see..."

Inspect the locks. Look especially for runic wards and other special securities.

"I can pick a lock. With a lock pick. It was part of training."
Anthony says quickly.
