The morning comes in a torrent of red and gold, the snows seeming the colour of blood. However, the worst of the blizzard has halted, and the current rate of fall serves only to replace that which has melted. The horizon is clear, and looking out past the broken wall the timber strewn slope gives way to a steeper incline, dotted with rocks.
Beneath even this, another, smaller peak rises upwards. A single speck circles its peak, a drake that dives out of sight, most likely hunting one of the goats that seem to be their main source of food. On its side can be seen another respite, smoke spilling from its chimney, but the only sound that fills the air is a dull rasping, as if from a whetstone.
Gunnar is nowhere to be seen, and his axes have been removed from the wall. However, the tubes have been left, and the main door lies open, a thin dusting of white beginning to form inside.

Ketsuki snapped awake. Despite her churning feelings, she'd drifted into a sleep deeper than she'd thought.

She noticed Gunnar was gone. She bared her teeth.

"Damn him..." she snarled. She'd already packed supplies the night before, and now swung her pack onto her back. Curious, she remembered to grab one of the strange tubes before she was almost out of the door.
"Anyone coming, come with me. I wait no longer."

"Well, maybe let's check around fer the guy?" Spooner suggests.

Quickly look around here and the general area for Gunnar. Make sure to seize whatever tubes are not taken by others. If he's not around, follow Ketsuki on her way.

"It should be easy to follow him in the snow, no worries."

Put a tube and some food in my pack and go outside. If there are tracks, follow them, otherwise just go south, preferably along a road.

Fia finishes the prayer and then trace rune A10 on the snow aiming it at the party .

Fia traces a rune in the snow in the doorway, (17+5), and a wave of calm washes over the party. Ketsuki, Ulten and Chance take one of the remaining tubes each, before they start to leave. As they step across the threshold, the rasping sound intensifies, and turning round the corner they find Gunnar hunched over one of his axes. He looks up as they appear, glancing at their packs slung over their backs, and nods, hanging his axes from his belt. the whetstone he stores in a small pouch alongside them.
’A red sky. An ill omen.’ He sighs, taking a look at Ketsuki’s face. ’But I fear that will not delay you, girl. The road south along the range should take around a week in fair weather. Maybe less if we can find some mounts.’
He pushes himself to his feet, and starts to walk uphill, along the path. ’We’ll pass by Khion - it’s a detour but there are better roads.’ He splutters slightly, his cough returning. ’And you can buy me a new helm on the way, girl.’ He laughs, the sound turning into another cough.

Travel with the group.

((Is there a limit to magical power, by the way? The system of intention leaves a lot of questions to be answered. For example, what would happen if I tried to bring the moon and stars from the sky to someone, with a single hastily drawn rune?))

((Well it very much relies on the roll. Something like that would probably require a roll...... somewhere in the 50s? And if you rolled low you'd certainly die as a result. So yeah. Of course, leaving less room for error in the interpretation of the runes lowers the required roll, but with a single rune your chances would be slim :P
So in summary, there's no hard limit, but unless you manage to vastly abuse the system you're unlikely to ever reach the soft cap.))

"A red sky in the morning is said to mean blood was spilled in the night. Which is bullshit to be honest. It normally happens before a stormy day."

((Realization: Bringing the moon and stars from the sky to someone would require a much, much higher roll than that. This 'verse didn't have any celestials, correct?))

((... Yup. Should really try to remember my own lore to answer questions. Although I did remember it in the update, just decided 'screw it' cause I couldn't think of an alternate term for sunrise that implied the lack of a sun.))
