"Fine. But we leave at first light."

Somehow, she felt she would not sleep much tonight. A location! At last! She didn't trust Gunnar, but she'd bested him once, and was confidant without his alchemy tube, she could do so again. Besides, what choice did she have? She'd heard nothing and less these past months, and she couldn't afford to miss this.

"Gunnar," she said, "Why is the Saint heading to Vardas?"

Eat, drink. Sleep until dawn with one eye open.

Oh yeah, by the way, jack the tubes if nobody's done it yet and they're still there, and ask Gunnar what they are before rest ensues.

"Say, big fella, what're these things, anyway?"

Gunnar hesitates before replying to Ketsuki.
’To save me.’ The intonation on the word is the same as before.
He is interrupted by Spooner’s question.
’See that button. When pressed, they release a powder. The powder absorbs magic.’

She bristled at the mocking tone of 'Saint'. "How do you know the Saint? I have travelled with her some years, and I do not remember any such as you, none named Gunnar."

"Well, he's an old fella, like he said. And the Saint's an elf, sorta like me. So maybe it all happened before ya were born. Y'll be maybe surprised that a lotta things did, ta be honest. Not that I heard o' most of 'em in my time. Too busy failing at pertusaria breeding."

Yozod takes the uneaten portion of his goat outside and recites one of the few prayers he picked up while at sea. It's really more of a shanty than a proper prayer, and is just as much about whores and snuff as it is about air and water, but Yozod shouts it at the top of his lungs so that the gods will be able to hear him. As he finishes, he flings the mutilated goat as far as he can as an offering, before heading back inside to get some sleep.

‘It was only a single month ago - she was travelling these parts.’ His brow furrows with thought. ’She left for the port at the end of the Seateeth - can’t remember its name’
He coughs once more. ’But the road will wait. Lots happened before you were born, as the drow says, and half a night is scarce a scratch.’ More coughing ensues.
’But for now, sleep. The road South may not be as troubled as it once was, but the land itself won’t have grown kinder.’ He lies down underneath his axes, staring up at the sky through the torn wall on the other side of the respite.

Anthony goes over to the coughing warrior.
"If you do not mind I can heal the poison."

A brief flash - possibly fear - flashes over the warrior’s face as he looks up.
’No. No healing.’ He splutters. ’The poison won’t kill me, and the cough is a relic from an old fight. Let’s just grab some sleep before morning finds us.’ He lets his head drop back to the floor, and closes his eyes.

((Skip to morning coming either this evening or tomorrow, unless anyone has anything else to add? ))
