Dragons In Adventurer Mode To Be Feared
« on: July 08, 2014, 07:09:54 pm »

A warning to all adventurers out there- The Dragon's Dragonfire now works in Adventurer Mode!  It is quite powerful, burning almost anything in it's path, including melting unwary travelers.

It did work, but it was laughably weak to shields. I assume that has been fixed then?

A quick test in the arena mode confirms that a palm shield is still the only equipment you need to block dragonfire. Unless adventure mode is diffrent somehow?

Arena actually lets you set the temperature to dragon-fire, which is much hotter then magma.
I took control of a character and he had to dodge the IRON STEAM from other's BOILING IRON ARMOR.
Then he melted anyway. Everything. Except magma-men. Haven't tried actual dragons yet.

Yeah, dragonfire's always worked. You could even use it yourself in 40d (though not at-will) and 0.34.01 on (at-will).

You think dragons are scary? Wait until you see hydras. Unless you're a legendary everything, you won't be able to deal with all those strikes from all of those heads.

And do you know what the vision cone looks like on hydras during sneak mode? Well it's not a cone. It's a circle. A big damn red circle.

I think the most powerful creature ever would be a hydra thrall. No lie.

Hydras are not as "epic" as they seem. The multi-attack Hydras do, and their stupidity in not doing accurate strikes with their multiheads, means they will often miss stationary targets.

Um... Select "block attack" when something is attacking you?

I've been blocking blows like crazy and haven't had it crash once.

Yes, you could Breathe Dragonfire, but, in Adventurer Mode, it would only burn items and land, and not spread.  Now, it burns living creatures AND it spreads, and now it just basically works exactly like in Fortress Mode.

Doing that makes everybody's game crash.

I had problems as a dragon from everyone running away or attacking me in terror. I found a fix is to hold people down and interrogate them for quests.
