Your first 40.01 Artifact--post it here!
« on: July 08, 2014, 03:00:29 pm »

Mine was a perfect morion gem, with no interesting details other than morion spikes.  To rub even more salt into the wound, it was a possession.  Oh well, since I hastily threw a jeweler's shop up outside, it can serve as kobold bait!

Anyone else have a mood?

The first artifact of my first 40.01 fortress, a very disapointing phyllite scepter :
Lisatbėrūl Kłradoz - "Notchbastion the slick savageries"

value of 3600 apparently

Just got another one, a millstone and it has spikes ! but my dwarves seems to be obsessed with phyllite.
Kivish Sūbil "Lancer of Robustness" , 27600 of value

Another bit disapointing artifact, but i guess ... it was inevitable .

I am wondering what will happen when you let that artifact out in the world...

Not too impressive, but at least my mayor will dream sweet in his new bed:

He could try to get hold of it as adventurer and use it as a club....

Yanno what would be evil?  If Toady put in things that dwarves hate.  Thus being around those kinds of things LOWERS their mood.

Now imagine your mayor got that bed and hates Pink Jade.

Unfortunately, it was a possession, not a fey mood. I would REALLY have liked to have a legendary weaponsmith. :/

What would it be like to live in a world that was copy/pasted? Would we even notice? If not, how many times have we switched celestial harddrives or whatever?

Sounds like something you would find in a sex dungeon.

Gangveiled the Wish of Torches, a schorl toy hammer. It is encrusted with rose-cut aventurines and circled with bands of round jet cabochons. This object menaces with spikes of schorl and aventurine.

It was a possession, so it was pretty useless. At least it's spiky!

I shall build a fetish room for my mayor with cages with naked goblins and all.

LOL they already have that.  It's my understanding that if a dwarf that hates roaches walks by an engraving of roaches, he will take a tick of unhappiness because, you know, vermin.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

Failedmirth the Sinews of Binding: a rubicelle animal trap menacing with spiked of rubicelle. I put it somewhere everyone can see and admire it. 48000 dwarfbucks.
2nd one is more useful: The Bowl of Laws, a water buffalo bone armor stand. It has a picture of a book on it. 8400 bucks, I might make use it for the barracks, the mayor doesn't deserve this beauty.
