I know this isn't important, just fun to talk about.

In my first 0.40.01 embark - a Yeti got a hold my dogs and cats.  I now need more.
A willow tree was responsible for the first dwarf death.  That's right - A willow tree.

How about you?

No deaths at all yet, although I'm sure the first death will be a butchered animal.

A were-lizard of some kind. It came twice and killed like 5 people.

This creatures are actually dangerous now, they take longer to transform back.

A goblin crossbowman killed one of my dogs then left the map. He was the only goblin brave enough to face the dog, all the others fled in terror, except the recruit, who hid in a tree and didn't come down until my miner pulled him from the tree and split his skull.

because everyone here is OCD and ADHD, and then complain when their dwarfs act similarly in game.

I thought for sure that one of my dwarves would have died from the compound fracture--now infected--that she got from a tree  log, but not so far. Two horses died from butchering.  Will keep you updated on dwarven deaths.

first dwarf death was a child who'd decided to use his new-found climbing freedom to cross a few trees to the other side of the river, and then for some reason decided he couldn't climb his way back up the tree he'd just come down. built him a bridge, and he proceeded to fall of the bridge into the river and drown.

a few other dwarf children seemed to want to compete with this guy for the title of first death though. by climbing out into a cavern and then deciding they too couldn't climb back as well.

First dwarf that died was my mason, he died deconstructing a floor over my moat, dropping himself in.

A dwarf child was found dead, drowned.  I suspect he fell into the murky pool.  From a tree.

A mason has been missing for a week.  On the combat reports, he has wounds that are unsourced, and consistent with falling damage.  I suspect he fell.  From a tree.

What the fuck is making my dwarves think they're elves?

I almost lost my carpenter to dehydration. She's probably going to die of infection, since I don't have any soap or thread or any other materials for a hospital, and my only accessible water source is a murky pool. I need to stop my dwarves from climbing trees.

What would it be like to live in a world that was copy/pasted? Would we even notice? If not, how many times have we switched celestial harddrives or whatever?

Within minutes of my first fort, a dorf fell out of a tree and went "Splat" on the ground into several pieces.  I have no idea what he thought he was doing climbing trees in the first place.   The expedition leader got angry and punched my metalsmith in the head until he died of brain injuries, but not before he bit the leader's ear off and broke one of his fingers.  That pissed off someone else who broke my farmer's arm.  A tantrum spiral seemed imminent, but somehow everyone was happy just throwing things until a couple of migrants showed up and got to work.   Two dead, two injured (one permanently in bed until I get a Dr. to examine and fix his broken arm) within five minutes of my first 40.01 game.  Best. Update. Ever.

I don't understand, though that is about right with anything DF related.
I just hope he dies the same death that all dwarfs deserve: liver disease.

My dwarf climbed a tree and chopped it down from the top, causing him to fall and get his leg exploded by falling logs. He didn't make it.

I had a moth woman, flying, somehow die by being struck by something. It reminded me of the injury messages you see when dwarf miners get hit by falling stone while channeling.

This is an exceptional obsidian statue of Daral Darkscab.
The item is an exceptionally designed image of Daral Darkscab the dwarf and a slag bar (massive) in obsidian by Ksoth Lolorumril. Daral Darkscab is raising the slag bar (massive). The artwork relates to the masterful slag bar (massive) created by the dwarf Daral Darkscab for the Corridor of Matyrs at Monstergores in the late spring of 312.

I'm so glad my masons have chosen to memorialize the really important events.
