((Bump for Powder Miner.))

[6] The bridge seems to have devolved into full-on yelling. No sign of physical contact yet, although the various parties seem to be arguing furiously. It seems two of the pirates are outraged at letting your ship go, while the 'Captain' is trying to convince them it is the right thing, with one of others trying to support him. The crew members seem to be referred to as 'Navajo' (who seems to be a navigator, and is against the captain), 'Zapotec' (who seems to be a bit mentally unstable, talking about 'blasting things' Probably not sympathetic.), and 'Powhatan' (who is supporting the captain), while the Captain is just called 'Cap.'

((True, but he/she/it might have just lost interest. Either way his/her/its character has an M.D so she will be useful as an NPC. I'm just examining the situation.))

Roll 18 - Loyalty Cascade

((why the hell is there a fish in a ship hall way ....... Also can the ship make new glasses?))
"This fucking water(a string of other curses) I should have never came her damn it. I need my glasses so that i can go deal with this goddamn space pirate.(more curses)"
Vex help people up from the pool or get the glasses and go back to bridge whichever come first.

[1] You give Sophie your hand and try to help her out, but your hand is slimy and she falls back inside, splashing you with water. You reluctantly apologize and try again.

[5] Philbert promises to keep his grip, and you pull him out without further complications.

New Trait: Rescue Operations (+2 to helping people from falls and accidents)

[2/100] The leech wound is already swelling. Whatever was inside that leech must have been extremely nasty.

...

*continued in Alev's and IcyTea's roll*

Get up with Vex's help and give him his glasses. ((I found them))

[5+1+2I/9 = ~5] Accept Vex's hand only to realize that it is covered in slime from the water. Fearing the worst, you pull yourself up, fully expecting the hand to slip. And it does. Fortunately, you pull your hand away from the rusty edge of the floor grate as you fall, splashing into the water but coming into no harm.

+1 Intrigue

Get out of the pool with his help, then go wherever they are going.

After getting out of the pool, you follow Vex to the bridge. Apparently you've made contact with some pirates. That can't be good.

You head into the bridge, taking note of the fact that the one guy... Harry is his name, you just remembered, has fixed that computer which Vex set fire to earlier. Impressive! He is currently scrolling through a list. You ask him what he is doing, and he says that he is arming the ship's railgun.

*continued in IcyTea's roll*

Proceed to retrieve the toolkit now. Hopefully, this will work!

You walk through the hall to retrieve your toolkit when you run into Vex, Philbert, and Sophie, all drenched in water, coming from the same hall that you fell in.

[2] Vex seems to be carrying two toolkits, but you neglect to ask him if one of them is yours. Walking into that hall and letting them leave, you discover that your toolkit is in-fact missing from the water.

Start arming the railgun at the first sign of physical scuffle in the other ship, not a second before.

Internal comms: "I'm going to need more people on the bridge, things are starting to heat up."

[5] New Miniquest: Plot Shielding (1/3 5's rolled.)

Just as a low voice--you determine it's Navajo from the names being thrown about--is about to make an accusation, you hear a loud shout from a higher voice that isn't the captain.

You hear the following conversation, although the others that just entered the bridge aren't quite able to make out the words from the rest of the noise:

Powhatan: Look! I know you two are concerned about our safety as a whole. That's fine! It's good to think as a team! However, mutiny isn't going to solve our problems. Our stores are almost full anyways, and you can't honestly say that topping off our supplies is a justification for stealing from colonists.
Zapotec: Well what's to say these strangers aren't lying? They could have a loooot of bounty in that central hull o' theirs. I'm not saying Cap would be making a mistake if that were true, but the way he takes it for granted...
Navajo: I say we go in ourselves. Just take a look. That alright, people?
Cap: *sighs* I'll give you an hour. Be back or there will be discipline. And don't kill anyone, for God's sake.

"This is Alexander Highmount. Due to requests from my crew we are sending a pair of armed crew to search your cargo hold. If they cause you trouble, please say so. I am sure they will be on their best behavior... Isn't that right, gentlemen?"

Internal: "They're going to board us; get a concealable weapon and get into the cargo hold."

External: "Very well. By the way, not that I didn't trust you, but if this is an ambush, I will personally see to get back at you."

((By the way, does my Existential Crisis have a cooldown or anything, and can it be used on multiple people?))

-"Understood."

Get out of this damn water, go take a drink and smash the bottle, hiding some glass on me, and report to the cargo hold. Using my mad intrigue skills to improvise and hide the weapon.

"Oh.. what the hell happened? Did you guys fall in the same water I did?"
Before they go through the door, she notices that Vex carries a toolkit with him. Along the same lines, her toolkit is missing from the water line.

"No, wait, come back! I need that!"

Chase down Vex to retrieve my toolkit.

Improvise a weapon and get to the cargo bay.

((The ship might have an armoury somewhere, by the way, so it might be a good idea to keep exploring after this.))

Roll 19 - Slight Problem...

-"Understood."

Get out of this damn water, go take a drink and smash the bottle, hiding some glass on me, and report to the cargo hold. Using my mad intrigue skills to improvise and hide the weapon.

*chug chug*

[5+1W+2/9 = ~ 5] After drinking the last bit from the container--you wouldn't want to waste any--you smash the bottle in the sink and hope gravity won't turn off before you have a chance to clean the mess. The glass shatters nicely, forming a nice set of spikes with a convenient handle in the form of the neck of the bottle.

[2+3I+2/11 = ~4] Using some leather from old, bug-infested clothing in the living rooms (how did they get in there?) you fashion a holster, so to speak, for your improvised weapon. It looks like a simple bottle holder so you can carry a drink with you, but it's big enough to obscure the cracks in the bottle and the gap between the two halves. Simply tugging on it will make it fall apart and release the improvised weapon.

New Miniquest: Craftsmanship (Create items without 3d printer: 1/3)
((Also, since you had a miniquest that should have been completed a while ago, I buffed your decadence trait))

Go to the hold with my seax and whacky stick, don't look threatening. . Might want to PM Powder Miner.

You retrieve your knife [2] and toss it around playfully. You drop it and it lands point-down, jabbed through a hole in the grate mere centimeters from your toes.

Sophie returns with a bottle of wine attached to her leg. She suggests getting a weapon of your own before she sees the 3d-printed knife stuck in the floor, and laughs.

Improvise a weapon and get to the cargo bay.

((The ship might have an armoury somewhere, by the way, so it might be a good idea to keep exploring after this.))

[6-1 = ~5] Getting to the cargo bay is simple. You note that your toolkit has enough wrenches and screwdrivers for use as an improvised means of attack, and some of the screwdrivers in particular are very sharp indeed.

You, Sophie, and Philbert head up the elevator, once again adapting yourselves to the freefall conditions in the ship's hub. You remember the hatches, and you slide the one at the center across, revealing the next level to the others. Double-checking to make sure you are heading to the cargo bay, you continue down the row of hatches until you come to a dimly lit quarter of the ship. However, there is a problem.

The gate to the cargo bay is an airlock. You'll have to put on space suits to enter it. They are present within lockers inside the airlock, but the suits themselves are thick, bulky, and probably don't lend themselves well to concealing a weapon or even close-quarters-combat in general.

You notice that the three of you have slightly drifted off in the direction of the 'ceiling' i.e. away from the cargo bay. Looks like the pirates have landed. Judging from the direction of the motion, Philbert suggests that the launch bay is 'up', on the other side of the hub.

"Oh.. what the hell happened? Did you guys fall in the same water I did?"
Before they go through the door, she notices that Vex carries a toolkit with him. Along the same lines, her toolkit is missing from the water line.

"No, wait, come back! I need that!"

Chase down Vex to retrieve my toolkit.

((Varee didn't reply, so you'll just be chasing an NPC Vex))

[1] (you) vs (5) (Vex)

Vex doesn't hear you at all, and seems to be in a hurry to the bridge, so you have to chase him all the way to the bridge. All the walking is making you quite tired, but when you arrive Vex seems hardly fazed, situated at a control panel and furiously working the controls. He states that "they're" already in the launch bay. Who is "they're"?
