another nice change is now that obsidian has proper yield and sheer values now rock short swords are viable weapons now able to properly hack unarmored bodies now.

no more needing to edit obsidian's raws to allow it to do so now.

Hey guys,

at the moment I just want to play Fortress Mode. Would you recommend me to play with 0.40 or is it too buggy at the moment?

Greetings,

It's a lot less buggy than before, and a lot of bugs were fixed recently. Still, you might want to be cautious.

Try editing civ creatures, megabeasts etc. and dogs to get at least one skill level in discipline.  (that is, adding [NATURAL_SKILL:DISCIPLINE:1] to their creature raws)  That helps a lot with creatures being horrified at random until the morale-system is fixed.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'll try 0.40 with your editing then. :)

My own citizen (Farmer) was caught to my cage trap!
How to get she (yes! :-) she) from the cage? The game engine does not list her among poultry or enemies.

Build her cage somewhere and then unassign her from it.  You can pick which cage to build by pressing x on the item selection page.

Funfact, the raws do indeed say 'can be popped' at Maize and several others(I think pendant amaranth and something else). So Toady is honestly thinking of implementing popcorn.

(Thinks it's gonna be part of the tavern arc)

I imagine dwarven concessions are just jars of sweet pod syrup.

I need to stop playing Dwarf Fortress... that actually sounded good.
