Indeed.

But Jesus didn't see black people as animals. And that's the point...Jesus wouldn't encourage a genocidal battle with the cat people, dammit!
BUT THE BOOK SAYS!

Don't open spoilers till you've watched 'At World's End.'
Trying to decide whether 'The World's End' or 'Hot Fuzz' is better. So far I'm still sticking with Hot Fuzz, but by god does the amount of work that went into these movies show. I especially love all the subtleties that took rewatching for me to notice and guffaw at; like at the world's end pub where the sign says 'drink responsibly' or where the

Gotta rewatch hot fuzz now. Top quality.
Every time I rewatch those films I spot something new.

I especially love that kind of alium invasion because we all have probably heard of HFY before, and as I have said before /tg/ got bored of regular Ol' HFY where humans did what was said in the OP and more or less roflestomped the aliums against adversity and all that, generally playing to our egos and our strengths as much as possible. The gold ol fa/tg/uys decided that that was getting stale and really scrubbed out a lot of what it was to be human, and started playing less to our martialism and will to survive and more to our empathies, cooperation and most importantly: Our flaws. The result was to be more endearing than any other alium or HFY story, and oddly enough was actually more inspiring than regular humanwank. We're really doing a lot better than we give ourselves credit for, considering just how many times we've nearly killed ourselves.

Knowing that, I still support genocide of the cat people.

Seeeriously though, Jesus was perfectly content to sit and watch as a couple thousand intelligent non-humans he stuck inside pigs ran off and drowned -- after they basically threw themselves on his mercy, even! -- and then have some guy run off and brag about it. Love, that is not.

My interpretation of the christian ethos would preclude catmangenocidu as well, but I would hesitate strongly to say that jesus himself would have hesitated to go all purge the xeno/mutant on random catfolk. Everything I've seen point pretty strongly to christ, at best, really not giving a damn (beyond exploitation potential) about anything not human.

We would have to also silence a few key figures, like St Francis of Assisi or the Buddha. They would have to be condemned to the snake pits.

Well, St. Francis anyway. Remember, Buddha would go six finger death punch on the kittens. Maybe just catch 'im before the whole enlightenment bit, though then he'd just be stabbing them instead of six finger death punching. Decisions, decisions...

From what I recall, he stuck some parasitic demons in pigs and then said pigs killed themselves in the river. If a catperson forced itself into someone's body, then sure. As it is, I sincerely doubt that Jesus would order the deaths of catpeople. It just doesn't fit with any of his teachings.

Oh no there! Don't try to demonise the demons like that. You don't know if they were parasites, they might've just been ordinary tenants up until their landlord decided "nuh i dun want u here no more" and went to Jesus.

12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13 He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

Not the pigs, no. But Catpeople? Almost certainly.

No, I think it's safe to say that the lesson here is that all water should have ramps around the edges. 's just not safe otherwise.

In fact, the point could be made that Jesus prioritised the intelligent demons over animals. In which case, he would prioritise the Catpeople over animals also.

Do remember the rest of the context, though. The landlord didn't even say anything about wanting them gone, they were just begging to be left to live instead of being ran out of town and offered a compromise. Which christ kinda' spat on. Pretty sure ol' jesus would have stopped 2k humans from running off and committing suicide -- assuming that was suicide, and the big J not forcing the pigs to go die, taking the sentient passengers with them.

As I said -- that particular incident really doesn't bode well for the argument that christ views non-humans as neighbors. I don't think them being embodied instead of symbiotic would make much of a difference. Still intelligent, still non-human -- J says, "Go drown in a ditch."

But sure, maybe he wouldn't actively campaign for driving the catpeople to extinction. Look the other way, though...

Alright. Tell me one good thing a demon has ever done. Then, if against the odds you do find one, then tell me what type of demon forces itself into the flesh of humans?
