I would assume that we have knowledge of all of these, as we are part of a deity that has conquered many worlds.

All worlds have slightly different mechanics, so no. Your only knowledge at the moment is "Basic Universal Mechanics [Health, Movement, Physical Abilities and Traits]". Which is stuff you have basically gleamed from the fact that the Shadows don't fly, don't fall through the floor and can exist(even if they decay rapidly). Like half the worlds Keb has taken are pretty much sentient and have no concept of solid matter at all. Doing anything with magic at the moment would be the equivalent of attempting to make a circuit board when you don't know if electricity exists.

And I guess I might have left this unclear, you can only do one action per turn unless otherwise specified.

Then have everything dash behind something for now.

Manifesting extra hit points might be feasible, but we don't know how much damage the enemies do. I'll count on them only doing 1 point, (probably) being plain mooks of the lowest level possible.

I'll use (X,Y) co-ordinates here; X is rows from up to down, Y is columns from left to right.

Shadow 7 moves to (4,7), Dashes to (2,10) and attacks the enemy at (3,11). That's the guaranteed kill, and might leave the shadow behind some cover, at least until the enemies move.

Other Shadows do nothing, expecting to gain knowledge and option of manifesting ranged attacks next turn.

As for the Foreign trait, we should take care of the issue at hand and remove it from future Shadows instead of these, who might die anyway to the enemies.

Sorry for the editing spree, my plan is evolving, in a way I could misuse the word "irony" in considering the theme of the game.

Shadow at (4,6) moves to (4,7), Dashes to (2,10) ((4,10) if dashes must be done in a single direction) and attacks the enemy at (3,11).
It would only need to be (4,10) if the dash has to be in the same direction of motion, which isn't stated anywhere. We can move along diagonals, so i would assume it counts as a direction.

Also, i'm tempted to say move (5,5) one step right, to draw a ranged attack which we might be able to use.

Hey, we'll probably gain knowledge of ranged attacks if/when they attack... Editing post.

Coordinates are silly, have this.

IcyTea31, I'm afraid manifesting takes a full turn, so no movement.
Changing directions while dashing is allowed though.

I can't see a way to guarantee a kill this turn if we can't move and manifest.

Edit: Unless we can both dash and move this turn.

Dash [Cooldown 2 turns, can be used after movement]

Question for the players: Shall I take care of household chores like moving Shadows out of portals, or just follow whatever plan you have voted for to the letter?

Anyway, just cause I want this stuff well ordered. If you have a plan, give it a name. Any further posts with that name bolded will be counted as a vote towards that particular plan. Since this is a tactical game, I don't see how I could weld all the current votes and plans together.

I would say you should carry out routine tasks like moving off the portal, so long as they've been mentioned in passing. Though you get to choose where to place them then....

So:
Plan ICETEA

Shadow 5 move E, dash E,E,E
Shadow 6 move SE
Shadow 2 move NE
Shadow 4 NE
Shadow 1 SE
3 SE

I'll use (X,Y) co-ordinates here; X is rows from up to down, Y is columns from left to right.

Shadow 7 moves to (4,7), Dashes to (2,10) and attacks the enemy at (3,11). That's the guaranteed kill, and might leave the shadow behind some cover, at least until the enemies move.

Important that the dash is last.

Shadow 6 moves SE to (7,6)
Shadow 2 moves NE to (3,4)

Basically IceTea's plan but moving into slightly better cover.
This was part of my plan but I edited it out. That, because, to borrow a gaming term, moving in the current situation draws aggro from the enemies, and we don't want more of that than necessary.

Quite the opposite actually. This is more X-Com, less MMO.

So if the shadows don't move, they don't fire?

Odds are us we should have one unit dash first to draw fire and then have the killing unit kill.

Each soldier gets a reaction shot during our turn, plus however many shots they get during their own turn.
