So, what changes are there supposed to be?
There are too many to enumerate here but there is a thread dedicated to it. The biggest change is the activation of the world. As the game is now, time only passed in a small bubble around your adventurer or fortress. In the next version the rest of the world will continue to evolve around you.

For instance I plan to create a fortress in the new version where I do my damnedest to create a turkey explosion and then release it into a husking cloud. My last act after my FPS hits 5 from uncaging and husking the 100s of turkeys from the cage will be to retire the fort and unleash the undead army of invincible turkeys upon the world.

I will then watch just how the game world responds to having hundreds of husked turkeys running around outside of an abandoned dwarf fort. It should be hilarious if nothing else.

And thus began the dark age of the Husked Turkeys...

One death pit per family deploy! Plus a communal one for the ones with small or no families.

Oh my...

Family death pits and communal death pits... this can happen only in DF :)

Let's take a moment to realize that with historical figures in armies, we can show enemy soldiers the dead bodies of their family members who were in the last wave.
And they will cry about it.

I imagine things will get pretty gruesome awesome when I make sentients butcherable. I'm imaging goblins running in fear from dwarves wearing the bones of their family members as armour. (Or if you don't want to take the armour hit then steel armour decorated with their bones)

On a sad note I also imagine that unless toady has actually fixed cleaning jobs it will be near impossible to run a happy fort due to relatives blood seeping through the roof and generating negative thoughts constantly... plus all those teeth. I imagine emotionally damaged well trained dwarves who are dedicated solely to the removal and cleaning of bodies will become necessary. Probably makes sense for these to be your doctors anyway.

I'm curious to know what happens if you start a game in year 1, get the fortress running, and then retire it. Unless migrants are limited by current race-population, that could give the dwarves a huge advantage in continued worldgen.

Unfortunately, because goblin bone armor is made out of generic 'goblin bone', it will not be recognized. Only 'body parts' such as the raw bone itself will be recognizable.

What would it be like to live in a world that was copy/pasted? Would we even notice? If not, how many times have we switched celestial harddrives or whatever?

With the demise of the hive mind stealing from towns will become feasible. I think it will go to the extreme of Skyrim's "steal everything not nailed to the ground"

Im personally quite excited to start my new Bandit Entity In adventure mode then take over a village.. or two. My dreams of being the evil overlord of a human town will now be feasible......

I've tried staking my claim on a site.

Nobody did anything. I had to murder the law-giver to get the announcement, and then, my character convulsed in sadness over what he just did while having his face pulverized by a hammer.

What the fuck. Is some random undorfed recruit now our new Darkwing? Hell, even Darkwing just managed to kill two clowns before he went down. It's beyond me that a frigging recruit in the Official Voidspawn Feeding Detachment managed a triple kill on Forgotten Armokhumping Beasts.

So is the prepared meals money-making gravy train over ? I went to create a stockpile and I don't see prepared meals as an option.

Silly me, haven't played for a while and failed to notice it is listed separately under the 'u:' key.

Once DFhack updates, walls, furniture etc. should be able to be stolen...  :P
