OK then, WH40k used to have the Squats
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
which they later remove to make room for more elves and such, bah.

Otherwise i think there are other fantasy universes which totally have space dwarves.

Anyway, here is a Lego anvil ship
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They removed the squats because there was no demand for them, they weren't selling enough to be profitable.

A feature I would like (I think its planned anyway) is the revamp of the workshops. I would like them to be designated rooms with furniture in them, working like the hospital, including its internal supply storage.

Isn't that already planned though? (and yes, it would be nice, and you don't need to be a fortress mode player to realize that)

Being able to use alcohol as an actual liquid, like water, and then being able to light that on fire and dump it on people.

Do you want to pour the booze on useless gobbos? So wasteful.

I want booze pipes running to every house. Continuous supply.

Notice I never actually said goblins.  :-\
I'm all for burning nobles to death in it, though.

Nobles dont deserve that death, if anything we should use burning booze to cremate our glorious dead warriors.

Dwarves in fortress mode spontaneously forming associations based on which god they worship, organizing in prayer, and demanding place of worship be built on threat of blood being spilled. Places of worship may or may not be used for blood sacrifice and or conduits toward divine-based FUN.

I'd have to see how hospitals work after the supply interface is made more intuitive or self-explanatory and the bugs that cause hospitals to become black holes for hospital-useable materials are fixed to know whether this would actually be a good thing...

Re. dwarves in space: While dwarves would doubtless be the first race to develop the rockets necessary for space travel, I imagine that being without an atmosphere and exposed to the rays of the sun with no earth under their feet is something like being outdoors... multiplied by a bajillion and two. If you have a science fiction (or fantasy in space) setting with fantasy races, this would be a great reason for people to have to return to the mother planet every few decades/centuries/millenia to get the latest dwarven technology that the dwarves refuse to bring to the stars themselves because, as they say, who with sufficient intelligence to invent anything wants to get closer to the stars and further from the earth anyway. So whoever controls the mother planet or lives closest to it has all the best tech, assuming they don't do anything to piss off the dwarves (although we know that in DF that's "basically anything but be useful to them")... at which point the dwarves might very well end up owning the mother planet? Well, it could get interesting one way or another, much more so than simply having dwarves out in space where they don't exactly belong.

Then again, DF dwarves would probably see the terrors of space as some sort of challenge, so... who knows.

I have an idea. Let's play a game where you win by being as quiet as possible.
I get it, it's one of those games where losing is fun!
I spend most of your dimension's time outside of your dimension. I can't guarantee followup or followthrough on any comments, ideas, or plans.

I'm a dumb hipster who plays older Dorf Fort versions. Mostly DF2010 and 40d. I also make and play a lot of silly mods, and find my own ways to have Fun.
