So
there is a city of notionally living humans inside a sphere smack dab in the middle of... underworld, and it existed there for untold ages, being the last of an ancient civilization that was
fucking ripped out of the world together with space it occupied. How does it lasts here, pray tell? Magic! And to sustain that 'Magic!' it's magical girls, and sometimes not just them, go out to Earth and act like girlified dementors (someone
must have drew that. "Go on, kiss me
"). So, if they can leave more or less freely, why stay in this hellhole? For the glory of the Kingdom, rational bastard!
Although, the funniest thing for me was that I imagined it a lot more dead and hostile based on previous mentions, but here it is, going on like nobody's business, with it's weird customs and overgrown bureaucracy, which are said to be the most dangerous thing about it (
a danger indeed! ), and delusional dreams of retaking the world. And foolish magical girl tourists visiting
without prior arrangement are imprisoned, sure, but very politely and in luxury, such as it is. But no going back and forth willy-nilly, can't have that.
Although, getting prior arrangement out of someone who poindently does not make himself available may be no less of a quest than escaping out of there in one piece.
Dark magical girls of storms, which were described as the least generally "bad" of three kinds, on the other hand, turned out to be most horrifying. Berserking battling rams with somewhat self-destructive powers that usually keep enough wits about themselves to fight in the right
direction, okay. Idle musings, that if monsters they fight are spawned by humans, it might be best to kill all humans instead, alarming. And then there are
goalenu, a hivemind of Storm Queen's dead champions (recent ones, too!) inhabiting effigies of clay and human body parts, which are assembled by storm cultists and, it seems to be, require replacement at regular. So the gals just go out one day and dismember some people to conjure a (blatantly overpowered) Thing that, as themselves, does not care very much about what to kill. All for the greater good, supposedly!
To add some more creepyness, gals can also add similiar body parts to their bodies, gaining some mystical benefit in addition.
And mirror girls just end up unintentionally sabotaging the good fight, as well as many other things, by being massive egotistical jerks.
