Chickens lay their eggs pretty clean honestly, they don't need washing unless a chicken pooped on them afterwards for some reason. There's this natural waxy coating on them and everything, keeps them fresh much longer if left intact.

Yeah, we sometimes dont refrigerate ours, just leave them in a basket on the counter. Except the ones that are soiled, yeah. Although I will say some of our hens shit right on their eggs they just laid. The mucus coating keeps bacteria out as long as they dont get wet, though.

Theyre not often bloody, though. Very rarely you get a little red in them. I found one this week that was twice the usual length, though.

Come to think of it we had that happen a couple weeks ago too. at least I think thats what happened, my folks seemed insistent one of the other hens ate it, but there was no signs of broken shells anywhere, and tons of yolk and white left. Somebody definitely stepped in it and then laid another egg on top of it, though.

Just discovered one of my boss's bosses worked on the viagra heart study that discovered viagra's other use. Apparently pfizer kept receiving all these SUSAR reports and as my boss put it, "sat on the results," though he could've worded it better

Had a dream where I was in a convenience store discussing an update to some webcomic and I knew I needed to get a car seat for the saturn we were driving except when I got out to the car there was one of those little booster seat car seats in the back seat already which I guess I knew because I took a little rubbermaid trash can and wedged it in the floorboard in front of it before pointing at it and casually declaring to the missus as she hopped in 'it's the baby deathtrap!'

She nods like "perfect, exactly what we needed" and then we drove off.

After waking up and explaining this to her I realized what I had said was far more hilarious than it seemed mid-dream, like... why is this a thing?
