What must be most frustrating is they only found the one specimen. As in a single individual. They obviously couldn't cultivate it in the lab and it probably died shortly after collection, because yknow its habitat is a hydrothermal vent, on the bristle of a scale worm (which itself could be random happenstance, like it just happened to get caught on the worm as it was moving around)

These biologists could spend millions of dollars and their entire careers just trying to find more of the things to study. And because it's habitat is so different from the surface environment they might never be able to grow them in a laboratory environment for study, especially if you can't figure out what conditions they like because you can't find them breeding in-situ

That's gotta be infuriating!

Science be like that sometimes. Like finding a totally new form of mineral third hand from some guy who picked it up off the ground but can't tell you where, and you never figure out how it was formed or what kind of rock it came from.

That's pretty funny since it's older than Gen Z, yet I see what you mean.  2007...  I was seeing it in college on Adult Swim, and I think I'm millenial (on the older side).  I've only seen a couple of full episodes though, plus some commonly shared skits.  The phone booth argument comes to mind.
