To be fair, few would; Al-Oof is among the more insular parts of the region, and consequently little-known.

Lack of sleep has me down to 50%. Can someone explain?

Trekkin was playing off the "oof" sound and the claim it was translated from Arabic. "Al-oof" is just a pun on "aloof", hence why it's insular and little known. Hector admonished at how bad a pun it was.

Much thanks. I wasn't going to come up with that on my own.

I had to do a mental triple take before I got it, and then I was mentally groaning.

I liked Reelya’s one though.

Just not as much as the al-oureng region.

I'm still at the point where, knowing the joke, I need to re-read 5-6 times to understand what people are going for.

Is sleep really necessary? More likely than you'd think.

Yehp.

May have been more accurate as al-ourin, but I think that may have made it a bit more difficult.

Got around to reading Aristophanes' Plutus:

Far too much flatulence, but I laughed quite a bit.

Sister in law and her friend were out shopping this morning, drove over a rock and kept going without checking it. So they kept going until the car stalled. And then it stalled again. And once more, and it finally wouldnt turn back on, and they called me, to tell my brother, to come get them because they're stuck.

The rock took out her oil pan. The (friends') car is totalled, she drove it around with no oil in it. I have to laugh because this gal is usually so on top of things, and also because my brother couldnt be arsed to answer the phone for his girlfriend.

Got to babysit nephew for twenty minutes because of that. Made a big mess all over the floor because his sippy cup lid was dirty so I just gave him the cup. Was babbling the whole time about how awesome it was to drink without a nipple. I think, anyway. He was doing lots of babbling and giggling.
