I got a book recently, titled "How to use the Internet". It was published in 1997.

"Someday, browsing the Internet may be as common as flipping through the yellow pages."

"Communicator and Internet Explorer 4.0 are the wave of the future."

"The full version, for instance, is a 20MB file, which takes about four hours to download..."

Like reading a history book from the 1800's but instead of "here comes utah" it's like "here comes firefox" or some shit.

Is it weird that I miss this era of technology?

Somehow the difficulty made it feel like it meant more.

Just remembered one of many amusing conversations from last weekend and burst out laughing to myself at the thought of it.

After one friend shouted repeatedly at the dog to stop doing what she was doing (whilst she brazenly ignored him) before eventually opting for a terrifying, deep snarl that finally shocked her into acquiescence, another friend posited the idea of a "death metal album that's just you telling off your dog".

I looked up what dog mothers do to get puppies to listen, and it's that growl/snarl thing. It works, but you get this "sorry, mom" look back from them.
