I... uh, well. Huh.
...
:x
...
I just, I can't understand why anyone would want to read it, from what I've heard, though.
Because Nabokov is a pretty darned good novelist and it definitely deserves its place on Time's list of the best modern English novels? Yes, the narrator is depraved, but that's not a point against it. IOW if we only read/watched things that didn't have any disturbing characters or themes, we wouldn't have much in the way of cultural/entertainment artifacts.

I mean, yeah, if you're only familiar with the term in the context of the chinese cartoon porn that co-opted it :V

I saved my game and then decapitated my wife, Aela the huntress, just for funsies, but for some reason she survived it and now walks around the house without a head all day. She can't talk anymore, but can still listen to me when I ask her to follow me or if the store has made any money. I saw her head next to her while she was sleeping, so I guess she still keeps it with her. The kids don't seem to be bothered by it.

Which game was this?

Anyway, some of the Yakuza series Heat moves are brutal.

Some are entertaining, like this one down below. I like to think that this is what happens when you linger around the Warframe feedback forums too much.

By the way, the name of the heat move is "Essence of Eye Salting".

I've been working on generating portraits of dwarfs from in game raws and descriptions, and the results are equal parts hilarious and horrifying.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Its forever controversial but in the original work (not the modern adoption of the phrase) the narrator was *supposed* to be unlikable.  Of course some people seem to think he has that Hannibal Lecter quality to him...

I dunno, I wouldn't judge most people for reading it but I would judge any pre-college teacher for assigning it as reading.  Its... niche, I suppose would be the word for it.  Its own little niche that nobody asked for and nobody has written anything else for.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Pretty sure the book's censored as being obscene in NZ >.>

E: Nevermind, that was revoked in... 1963. My knowledge is really out-of-date.

This.  This made me laugh.  Or, well, does crying tears of confusion count?
