Mars has a thick enough atmosphere to fly a plane.

However, there are problems such as requiring you to be moving at Mach 1 before you can even take off.

You can fly on mars, but you can't turn. Or land.

That almost sounds like a description of Dwarf Fortress. "You can play Dwarf Fortress, but you can't turn, or land."

Takes some knowledge of poetry to get it, but...

"I'm dead...not."

"Dead yet? Nope."

"Alive? Still."
That cracked me up a fair bit.

The poems are often very short. I've got a lot of couplets with rules that I couldn't imagine putting together.

Not in a Cessna, anyway.

Sure, you can take off. Just launch straight up like a rocket. :P

Basically, you would need a space suit to keep you pressurized/breathing, and to provide radiation shielding. Sounds would be audible, but likely fairly quiet, or unlikely to carry as far. The speed of sound is also probably higher.
(and even for non-ideal gases the relationship is lower density = slower speed of sound, which is why the speed of sound is like 4x as fast in water as in air)

Nope, speed of sound increases with lower density. The speed of sound is like 4x as fast in water as in air because, while water is much denser than air, it is also much harder to compress, 4 harder to compress than it is denser. The speed of sound in a material is sqrt(bulk modulus/density).

Sucking up all the sun.

She is a retired Northampton science teacher and is concerned that photosynthesis, which depends upon sunlight, would not happen and would keep the vegetation from growing. She said she has observed areas near solar panels where vegetation is brown and dead because it did not receive enough sunlight.
its called shade.

that's called being a shitty small town.

She also questioned the high number of cancer deaths in the area, saying no one could tell her that solar panels didn’t cause cancer.

He said the solar farms would suck up all the energy from the sun and businesses would not come to Woodland.

Question: If there aren't any solar panels in the area yet, how are they causing cancer?

No one could tell her that solar panels don't cause cancer retroactively, either.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

There are already solar panels there, but the residents are opposed to building the final set of them.

The town won't actually benefit from the panels be built basically in their back yard at all. It's just lost land to everybody living there.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.
