This is true. For whatever reason, I find it very difficult to find information on that game.

I think the Australians did the shotgun thing as well, some cavalry officer apparently had to be given a direct order to stop using a sawn-off shotgun in combat.

Don't forget Murricans with shotguns. Germany actually accused USA of being a bunch of scrubs for using them, they were *that* effective.
FTFY. The unscoped bolt-action rifle is the only true MLG gun; everything else, be they shotguns or submachineguns, is for scrubs.

What about 360 noscoping with an M163 VADS?
Sadly, it wasn't invented yet in World War 1. And even if we assume our nameless trench soldier has a time machine, the true MLG weapon of all time would most likely not be a vehicle. Vehicles are for scrubs, after all.
