What is it with Obama and his memetic status in Japan anyways?
Because of this and this and this, among other similarly named places.

EDIT: There are also Japanese people with the surname Obama, although it isn't very common.

Heh.
I went to [REDACTED] today, a local toystore and also where my mom works and...
Well, I just started laughing at the stuff found there.
Pour example, a boxed, unopened PS2 Network Adapter. 2 of them, in fact.

I don't know if it's already been posted, but...

Everybody watch out, there's a hacker named 4chan on the loose. If you see him, call your local cyber sheriff and wait indoors.

That's no coincidence! The president is actually Japanese but he refuses to release his real birth certificate!

Somebody just got hit with the "replace friend's ringtone with a clip from a porno at max volume" in the middle of my huge astronomy class today. You should have seen them, they were bright red after it happened! :P

So we butcher them and build a 4chan tallow soap tower as a monument to our greatness?

Erghhh.

Anyone here ever read Wide Sargasso Sea? I had to for English Literature. There is a part in which Antoinette (Bertha from Jane Eyre) has a dream, and she's following a foreboding looking man through the woods. She gets her dress dirty, and then the world starts shuddering so she grabs hold of a tree to steady herself.

My notes held two separate people with two different views on this. One: The dirty white dress symbolises a lost innocence caused by meeting the dark man, and the tree is a symbol of stability which, given it is lurching all over the place, is rejecting her. She has no stability.
Two: The dirty white dress is a symbol of her lost virginity, and the tree is a huge throbbing phallus.

Two is the obviously correct interpretation.

I wonder what the shuddering was... And is my 'gripping = clenching' hunch valid?

"Throbbing phallus" is always the right answer.
