When people try to get me to listen to terrible modern mainstream music, I poison them so badly that they're deaf as a leopard. There's a song from nowadays every now and again that I like, I just don't go out of my way to find them because I already have all the music I want.

If I like it, it goes on my list. If I don't, it doesn't.
I don't care about when, how or with what it was made.

I'd agree with this. I do have my preferences, but as a general rule I'll at least try to listen to anything that isn't Amon Amarth-esque.

it's good to have eclectic tastes and not be snobby. I'm a big fan of some of today's hip hop artists (though I never liked the cartoon show Andre 3000 did, but I still think they should have kept running it, it had a better message than some of the other crap on cartoon network.)

I'm not much of a pop fan but I'm sure there's stuff out there, at least a song here or there that I would like.

Personally, I think nu-metal was the biggest blight on music in recent history, and rap rock. Those are not really current, so we have been through darker times than these.

This rap song about Pokemon. I can't believe how incredibly earnest it is. I can believe that these guys really think Pokemon is 'gangsta'. Just the idea is hilarious: normally nerdcore is pretty tongue-in-cheek but this is totally serious as far as I can tell.

That is so atrocious it is hilarious.

Pokemon is pretty conceptually gangsta'. Rolling pokehoes in unlicensed street fights, pimpin' out your gang, breaking into houses and stealin' people's shit, getting gunned down by passing gyarados, etc., etc., etc. Probably the largest conceptual dissonance is the massive institutionalized slavery of sentient beings that underpins the entire pokemon franchise.
