Don't worry. I ain't gonna be moving to America, I just don't think it'd suit me. I'm happy where I am, or maybe a quick hop across the border to Scotland/England/Wales.

Plus, Lyeos, I could totally take you.

Watching an insanely bad 70s Western. This movie is like 50% awkward silence.
I am bewildered as to how any of the actors manage to keep a straight face.

Hey, I'm a Southerner and I'm an assh---

oh, nevermind.

So, we have a Help Desk in India which is notoriously bad. To the point that numerous clients have complained about it. I was discussing this with our organization head, and she said "Well, there is a plan to fix some of that. VIP support is being rerouted to a desk which isn't as offshored."

"Oh wow, so it's a US-based desk?"

"Well.....it's a little offshored."

"Canada? Mexico?"

"Umm...Bulgaria."

And all I can think of is this:

If they need US based tech support, I can't be any worse than they already have, right?

Just found what would happen if forum roll players were teachers

When I read that they want med to throw kid out the window and teach the class to summon a tentacle monster I lost it

My family's dinner conversations are the best, especially when the various boyfriends are also present.

I'd like the south, but so far as I'm aware it's fairly hot in most places. I don't do heat. Much prefer to be cold than hot.

I think (Think. Not living in or around the area, this is pure rumour/hearsay.) that the south is more focused on family values, and there are a few places with a similar climate to Britain.
Less "family values" and more "tradition". Even fucked-up traditions.
Yeah, well, the friendly guys I wouldn't mind. I'd mind the assholes obviously, but every place has them.
Dunno about the tradition part.  Most people down here are just generally friendly.  Though it's getting rougher, to be sure.  The last generation of parents weren't that keen on being nice to absolutely everyone like their parents were, so we're sort of seeing a down-trend in kindness everywhere.  That's possibly the cynic in me talking, though.  Austin people are supposedly still nice as shit.

The number of people roughly the same age as myself that I have interacted with in the past two years that seem to think this way disturbs me, though.

Words.
I'm... In college, not the ninth grade....

When I was in 9th Grade, no one I knew had even heard of that show:

-9th Grade: Doctor Who? That, like House?
-10th Grade: I think I flipped past that once. (At this point, I met a Freshman who was a rabid fangirl, though).
-11th Grade: Oh yeah, Bowties n' shit!

I remember when the only way to see it hear was 8PM on PBS. It really quite surprised me to see it take off.

I have a hard time finding fellow Whovians in my school. I do, however, have a math teacher who is a Whovian. He is amazing.
