Daily database updates are critical for antivirus software to function, but updates which require rebooting are soooo aggravating ugh.
I got a good laugh from that image, thanks (:
And it's definitely a joke, not an "ease of coding" thing :P

It's both. If you had to make a "don't restart" button that would have been extra work and cost. You have to test anything you add in. The next century restart thing would already be covered in QA done for the general restart feature. So maybe 30 minutes to add the actual tick-box and wire it up, but many more hours of QA checking needed.

That swan picture is simultaneously hilarious and sad at the same time.

To a team re-made HL1 in the HL2 engine. This is old news.

Now another team is returning the favor.

I'm not sure what it says about me that I genuinely want this game. HL1 has just got that charm to it.

I wonder how the hell they plan to do Road 17. Replace it with a train cart? :P

Pretty much a normal day at my job. (I work in a thrift store)

Also, the same character did this.

So there's this clip from Tom & Jerry. It's pretty great. However, if you pause at just the right frame...

So I started on a "WALL HANG ALL THE THINGS" bender recently and was going around rigging and tweaking and such as I do.

Noticed I could make an earbud holder from the lid of a candy tin for the missus where she could reach it easily in bed.

Pointed out that she could also put her little timer on there when she was relaxing with one of her facial mask things on, so she's got the timer set up, she's got her hands behind her head, mask in place, we're chitchatting and whatnot when the timer goes off.

This next bit was all in one smooth motion:

She looks over at the timer and unfolds her arm to backhand it right off the earbud holder, it lands in a catch-all pen/stylus/etc cup on her bedside table, and a pill bottle or something ends up on the floor.

As if to say "Hey! *smack* I was talking! Rude!"

So I'm trying to process this in any way which didn't look like she meant to do exactly that, and something snaps in my brain, leaving me a crying wheezing mess.

It's been three days now and it's still hard to suppress the giggles when I picture it happening.

A shashlik is basically Central Asian barbecue meat. Chunks of meat roasted on a spit over coals, interspersed with vegetables if you feel like it.

Freaking russian, so I could try to order a barbecue and get a sword?

Granted it is my favorite of the swords from that area/era, but still!

Swords and Barbies are probably not sold at the same place.

So you're saying I need to start a "meat and veggies impaled on swords for cooking" restaurant?
