Quote from: World of Cultivation, chapter 106
Ten pieces of fourth-grade jingshi, that was five thousand pieces of third-grade jingshi… … three months… …

Zuo Mo felt dizzy. He made one last effort, “This is impossible to complete!”

“Oh, don’t worry, I like interest!”
snerk
咦? 什么?

"Probably a bad time to ask for that raise."
"I don't know, Arthur.  I think if you ask kindly enough they would give you a raise. Granted, it'd be onto a chair with a rope around your neck then a quick fucking drop, but, you'd get, a kind of raise..."

The rest of the video is more jokes and poking fun.

Physics don't apply to the Pillars of Perpetuity.

Yeah I know I could've put that in the Pillars of Eternity thread, but it really isn't enough to warrant a revival.

Oh my god I am so torn between outrageous laughter and mortification. Was PMing Toady about the NMS thread early this morning at the same time that I was replying to someone else on another board and I got my links mixed up, so I ended up sending the other guy a link to a random game thread and PMing Toady with a NSFW-ish link*. This is why I don't do things in the AM hours.

*Well, to be fair, like a fourth-degree connection relating to an art site which has NSFW content.

I've been on a Dwarf Fortress binge the last couple of days. Fortress is 5 years old. A glassmaker had a mood and made an artifact green glass figurine. It's a figurine of one of my speardwarfs killing a cave crocodile, which had killed a weaver, in the second year of the fort.

It was just so surprising to see that event get made into an artifact, and I had completely forgotten that had happened. Made me laugh upon realizing just what it was a figurine of.

Oh geez. I can't really go into details, but people at my work throwing a fit because a free service we provide was temporarily unavailable for a bit over thirty minutes. The entitlement is real.

I can't really go into details
'Cause apparently what's said online under a pseudonym as a personal opinion still counts as a statement by a public persona under the aegis of an institution these days and I should probably be at least mildly careful now that I've got a job that actually matters to my career. Obvious not going to talk about anything that's actually sensitive as opposed to just ideologically improper. But. Uh. Suffice to say, it's something which is hypothetically important and not otherwise readily available for a portion of the population that we serve, but is partially-to-largely used for entertainment purposes, and/or by people who could provide it for themselves if they chose to do so.

Like. On the one hand I understand and agree with why it's provided, but on the other I'm more than a little cynical about how much the actual usage matches the intended purpose.

Ah well.

Kind of in the same boat, though for personal rather than employment reasons. Things I'm upset about but don't really want to post about in case it somehow affects the outcome, and it will likely affect the outcome negatively because it'd be about how fucking useless some things are.

Though in lighter news there's a "trigger /tg/" thread up in /tg/ right now. It's atrocious, a brilliant little shitty star in the night sky.

Today, the 6th Duke of Westminster, Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, unexpectedly died at age 64. That's not what made me laugh though.
The anekdote about him did.
It's a London urban legend, that when a US delegation met with him, wanting to buy the land on which the US embassy stands, he replied
"okay, you can have it, if you return the state of Virginia to my posession".

Noblesse oblige, RIP

Will Snip'd

Nah man, wol smoth has no right to cry about it. If anything he's been trying really (REALLY) hard to turn his kids into celebrities, with varying success. He even financed an entire movie disaster (after earth) to feature his kid as a protagonist already.

It should noted that Will Smith has a few children. Only Jaden is such a damned weirdo.
