Spoiler: Steam fucked up (click to show/hide)
M-mother of god...

Steam delivers around 16 petabytes of data weekly to American users. So 3403793152 GB is ~3403.78 PB, you would have received more data than the rest of America would from steam for four years on that precise second.

You must have a good connection.
I have a databoner right now. IMAGINE THE DOWNLOADING.
In that single second you could have downloaded more games than can fit on a fair bit of hard-drives.

So I did a little more maths on this.
A tenuous source I found claims there is 6967 games in the steam database. I wasn't able to find the average size of a game on steam, so I decided to go with the (probably vastly inflated) average size of 30GB. Certainly, there are titans (heh) like Titanfall and GTA 5 at nearly 60GB, but games only starting exceeding 20GB recently - RAGE was commented upon for it's large size of nearly 20GB in 2011. 30GB was only exceeded lately for the most part in 2014 with Advanced Warfare, the New Order, etc.

But getting back to the point... 6967 x 30GB is a mere 209010 GB, or ~0.21PB.

You could have downloaded every single game on steam ~16206.5 times in that one second.

Steam also has mods that you can download through it, community stuff, information about games, multiplayer games, and updates.  Still, I suppose that figure is still beyond our reach.

The World Wide Web has been estimated at 500 exabytes. You could download every published file ever in under two and a half minutes.

Now if only you had a hard drive big enough to complete any of the above.

I think I've seen that happen once.  IIRC it's something about a couple file or something steam is expecting to download already being present and in a fraction of a second it detects that amount of data as having been downloaded.  Big enough files can throw off the calculations.

Still awesome.
