For a long time I was terrified of FG&RP because all I could see was Fire Emblem, Einsteinian Roulette, and Magic Girls.

All of which I pointedly ignore to this day.
Wtf, we have a lot in common

You have been wise, o orange and acidtoad.

Except maybe the FE thing. Then again, I've been addicted to all things FE since October last year, so take anything I say about it with a grain of salt.

Ditto. Though since joining I have acquired an addiction to GMing.

From what I understand, it's the longest ISG ever.

The Warrens of Oric the Awesome, a highly popular image suggestion game with its own TVTropes page which seems to have little to do with what its original purpose was. From what I can tell, several previously highly active forumites now rarely use the forum save for it. My theory is that freeformschooler is some kind of level 20 beguiler or something.

EDIT: Pseudoninja'd by DwArfY everybody.

Before that it was elf quest and adventure guy, and Robocorn had an adventure he was writing that had ran for a fucklong time.

Also, am I the only one who misses the old C@W fad that swept the forums? Those varied in quality, but when they were good they were fookin great.

Countries at War I believe

Personally I sometimes find myself longing for the golden age of suggestion games around three or four years ago iirc

Countries at War. Basically a bunch of people tried to take over the world, conquering countries and junk like that. So sorta like Risk, though it used a different combat mechanic and all the countries. Which was obviously really imbalanced, especially when you compare North America to Africa. And they were pretty good if they managed to get enough players and a good GM. Though from what I remember the top players tended to snowball a lot and were hard to defeat, since your ability to produce troops scaled linearly with the number of provinces you had. So once you conquered enough, you could pretty much take on all of the other players and win.

...

So yeah, you aren't the only one who misses the old C@W fad, ggamer. And you also reminded me about the Medieval themed one I had planned... Hopefully most of my notes managed to survive.
