"That'll require us to be more thorough with this if we're not around to explain ourselves, but alright. Let me just write this letter from the Big Bad H to Sergarrski and we'll be off."

Once done with the evidence, follow Polevoy.

Comrade, IcyTea, are you fleeing by the hallway, or by the window?

SaberToothTiger, you're pretty much in the center of the camp already, it's only a company-size units, and most of the unit is detailed as sentries on the frontline, dead, or both.

Assuming we're on the ground floor and the window can be opened without breaking it, it would be safer.

Then I shall seek the highest ranking officer's tent. I shall approach it, hand the G41s to any potential sentries and step inside.

Kursk
May 8th 22:03:15

Field Marshal Kutusov: You quickly write an incriminating letter.

Spoiler: Letter (click to show/hide)

Not your best work, but you don't have time for anything else. Probably won't last long under scrutiny though.

You escape through the window with Commissar Poleyov. Staying low, you manage to make it to a shed used to store various plane parts. Outside, the airfield is a anthill of activity, mechanics are running left and right, artificers are loading up bombers and pilots are rushing to their fighters.

Back toward the office, you can see the VVS Captain leading another NKVD officer and two troopers toward the office. You can't hear them from where you are, due to the constant engine noise.

Behind the nazi line
Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz:There are no sentries, what with the mayhem your steed created. You just drop the G41s in a corner and step in what must be the late captain's tent. Inside you find a cot, footlocker and a table covered in various paper. [4] Outside, you hear the Poles getting their bearing. A young voice that must belong to the lieutenant can be heard outside.

- [So, Andrzej, who got the horse? Where did he go?]

Inspect airfield. Any personnel carrying planes there that are about to depart? Any planes with visible empty space in cargo hold big enough for two men?

No personnel are carrying planes ready to go. Or carrying place in general. Why would someone carry a plane? A few hundred meters to the rights, a flight of Il-4 is getting ready to take off.

"Maybe we shouldn't board random planes to get away from here. After all, we're here in Kursk to win a campaign. It would be quite difficult to do from somewhere else."

Standard gear includes a map and compass, right? Check which way and how far the fighting is.

Scrounge up any papers, hide them under my coat, quickly search the footlocker for anything even remotely useful. hide it in my various pockets too, crawl under the tent from the other side and pompously approach the leautenant from the side and claim that I have captured the horse.

You get your Map out of your pocket. From what you were told during the briefing, you gather the other members of the Nuclear Cavalry Squadron were supposed to cross the front line around Volchansk.

Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)

In The Polish Camp

Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz: You grab a bunch of paper from the desk, then start fidgeting with the lock of the footlocker. [2] As you jimmy it open, you hear the lieutenant coming  in behind you.

-[Private! What do you think you're doing!]

"150 kilometers south-southeast. One of those cavalry horses we're supposed to use would be nice. Yeah, let's hijack, uh, I mean commandeer a plane."

 - Yes. We're doing that. The question is how. We wouldn't just force the pilot to fly at gunpoint. We lack the papers confirming our authority. But then again, any russian soldier would probably listen to you, you honor.

Tag along with Field marshal, let him do the talking.

(("your honor" is supposed to be a proper title when addressing to nobles like Kutuzov, with prince, or knyaz' (князь) title))

Put on the fancy hat. Head for the Bobs, and find a pilot to talk to.

"Say, where would this fine plane be headed?"
