I forgot to mention cash. Erm... Let's go with 200 for Paladins, Fighters, and Rangers, 150 for Clerics, Rouges, and Bards, 100 even for Barbarians, Sorcerers and Wizards, and 75 for Monks and Druids.

Also, if your cleric is "abrasive", you might like to take the Abrasive trait from Unearthed Arcana.

I don't like Traits or flaws persoanlly, and do not own the Unearthed Arcana book.

Fun fact: I was somewhat tempted to just take Toughness 2 times to be a total lout on the team. BUT, I figured that may be less helpful than the scroll thing.

I always find that weapon proficiency feats make good filler, as do the minor skill and resistance-raising ones like Investigator and Iron Will.

What about feats? Are you cool with stuff from the Completes, PHBII, Races of ... and such? A lot of the stuff I'm looking at will need feats outside of the basic PHB ones, otherwise a barb is nearly useless for anything but facetanking. If it's going to be pure PHB for everything, I'll probably do something else as a character concept.
