At this point I think we could do with a Time Skip to the next morning.

Waaaaaait a second.

Alright, Rolep. Looked up the SRD. I'll live with your flavoring, under the condition that you limit it EXACTLY to the Detect Evil standards. So, it'd be something more like this.
If she focuses on the "voices" for about six seconds, she can vaguely discern whether or not something evil is afoot. If she focuses on the "voices" for about twelve seconds, she can discern how many evil things are afoot and what the most powerful afoot evil thing is. If she focuses on them for about 18 seconds, she can tell where they are. If the evil power is "overwhelming", as per the table, the voices are too much for her and she is stunned.
Good-ish?

Not in like six days.

We... might have to boot him. A shame, really.

I hope we can at least have a happy reason for Oleg to leave.

At the very least, he could stick around until we reach Toad Island, assuming we do indeed decide to go there.

Uhm, not really? (For one thing, you're saying 'it's okay that you do it your own way as long as you don't do it your own way' basically. >.>)

The point was to not have to fuck around with all the bullshit detect evil rules.

I was only wanting to do it for flavor. I guess I just wont do the detect evil thing. Just too much effort to deal with the whole "I FOCUS ON THEM FOR THE NEXT 20 SECONDS TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER I CAN USE MY 1/DAY +2 HIT AND DAMAGE OH BOI"

*sigh*

Whatever. At least this way, I won't be able to horribly abuse my unlimited use of Detect Evil and flavorified reading of friend's thoughts and emotions.

*is tired, you shouldn't take the grumpiness too seriously*

Yeah... I liked RPG's detect evil idea better. Comeon Tawa, Paladin is kinda a bad class in the first place. Can't ya just let him have this? I think it makes the intereaction within the party more interesting.

Hmph.

*rereads Rolep's idea*

Scrap the very last clause and the name part and you have a deal.

Sure, I guess? The very last part would only apply to the party, anyway, and not the newcomer(not for a while, at the very least).

I think I get what you mean by the name part, that was just the only way I could think of showing what I meant by 'the better she knows them' which was there because I didn't think it be fun(or make sense) if she could read the thoughts of the gnoll trying to kill her(no she can't read thoughts but you know what I mean).

Cool.

Now just to try and figure out what to do IC with this.

The headache, by the way, is the Paladin's calling trying to break through and tell her 'Hey jackass, get to the fucking island', but divine stuff ain't always her forte.

Thank you Tawa. <3

Now to read whatshername's sheet and figure out what extremely vague things the whispers would sound like.

Edit: The only appropriate way for Ness to learn about Smite Evil is when Sacha does something or is about to do something pretty bad/ridiculous and Ness slaps them.

Holy SMACK! (still would deal nonlethal damage, though)

... Okay, as soon as Ness does that remind me to have Sacha drop like a sack of bricks.

Oh hey look, a decent reason for Ness to slap Sacha [playfully or not... Doesn't matter] as though it were manufactered by someone who wants their character hit with Paladin smites.
