- Do not exploit certain aspects of the game, like 'cloning' metals, robbing caravans or quantum stockpiles. Turtling is allowed in moderate amounts. Otherwise, everything else is allowed.

Does this rule prohibit using "Dwarven Road-dar" to figure out where the caverns are before digging?

To be honest I don't know how that "Dwarven Road-dar" works. Could you elaborate on that?

Road-dar does work, but after checking that it does, I haven't used it. I quite like the idea of being completely unprepared for subterranean threats though. It increases the value of fort-wide military training ;D

"Road-dar" is an exploit.  You outline a huge swath of road (or farm plot) but don't place it, then move it up and down Z-levels, and to various spots within a given unrevealed Z-level.  When it overlays cavern floor tiles, it changes appearance.  This lets you see where all the cavern floor tiles are, without digging down that far.

In a game where you aren't allowed to build walls to seal up a cavern breach, using that could let you dig down where the caverns aren't, to get to the stone/ore underneath them.  Or at least to breach through a ceiling so only flying creatures can come up through the hole, rather than everything.

It's up to KiBoy to say whether this is allowed in his game.

Well, We do have a lot of space in the center of the fort. With some redesign and a little effort, we could turn it into a heavily trapped area for killing/trapping/luring megabeasts and other cave critters.

Well, if that's the case, I think that tiny exploit is allowed. ( After all, we are here to piss off the queen bring glory to our queen! )

So... whose turn is it?

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

Depends if you can finish off your turn in 24 hours.

Craftknives
Summer 128
Overseer: "Snackfox"

1st Hematite

Summer has arrived…and also a kobold thief. Three in one year? This is not good. We must destroy them!

2nd Hematite

The mayor has issued a crossbow be made.

5th Hematite

We really need a hospital. I will order one built.

The goblin snatcher has returned! Kill her!

12th Hematite

A child was found drowned in the river. One of his friends promptly threw a party. Morbid.

18th Hematite

The elves have left.

19th Hematite

Nothing much has happened lately, so I commenced operation Kill-Every-Cat-In-The-Fortress.
What? The atom smasher needs more testing.

20th Hematite

Migrants have arrived.

21st Hematite

Goblin snatcher! Again!

And was killed! Take that, "master thief"! Pah!

25th Hematite

Tholtig Datanekir has grown to be an adult.

27th Hematite

God so many snatchers in a year! I have a bad feeling about this…

The snatcher was killed, but another followed him! And he made off with Monom Shigósadil!

20th Malachite

The mayor has mandated some tables be made.

16th Galena

The human caravan has arrived.

Overseer: "Snackfox"

1st Limestone

It is now autumn.

8th Sandstone

Kobold thief!

We killed it.

13th Sandstone

The ice has frozen.

24th Sandstone

Some migrants have arrived.

15th Timber

Oh no. We are under siege. HOW WILL WE DO THIS. We have no military…ugh. I'll have to draft everyone. And if we die…

16th Timber

Ahh crap we're gonna die we're gonna DIE

So many dead. So many dead.
Agh we're all DEAD

Armok help us please

no no no no

I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire.

casualties so far: 26

GOBLIN IN THE DRINK STOCKPILE

only one left only ONE LEFT

I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire. I retire.

Significantly less casualties.

22nd Timber

The siege is broken! We have won! Almost. Everyone is miserable. That is not good. Well. I need to sleep…

23rd Timber

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU STOP ME FROM GIVING EVERY TANTRUMING RAMPAGE MONSTER DWARF A WARHAMMER AND CROSSBOW.

Hey, can I end my turn early?

Um. Is this because you have completely destroyed the fort and it is guaranteed to die completely within the year? Because if so, given that it's so early on, I think maybe the next person should start from the end of Iamblichos' turn. That is normal succession fort policy, isn't it?
