Tap it a few times.
(heads, success)
It feels kind of springy.

Take a flashlight and search for secret doors.
(heads, success)
You see a large hatch has opened in the door of the central room and shine your light down there.

Look for a light switch.
(tails, failure)
Ironically, light switches are hard to find in the dark.

Look for a light switch as well
(heads, success)
You notice someone standing in the room above you holding a flashlight.

Whimper.
(heads, success)
You emit a most pathetic-sounding high-pitched note.

Anyway, after having been away yesterday, Look outside now that the lights are on.
(tails, failure)
The lights only seem to have turned on inside the ship, the exterior is still completely dark. That, or the windows are tinted opaque. Perhaps there's something to check on one of the control panels here in the cockpit.

"Oi! Shine that light over here!"
If the light is shined over here, examine the thing.
If not, poke Prophet.

Basically, this is intended to be rolled for last.

Look for a button or lever or some such to turn exterior lights on. If I find one, pull it, obviously. If I manage to somehow do all that without screwing something up, look outside and try to find something with which to tell where I'm at!

It's hard to look adorable when you have no face.

Begin walking toward Thingie if light is shined, if not, Start glowing.
(tails, failure)
You deduce that the glow is proportional to the amount of souls you have absorbed, as it only increased when you absorbed the second one, and so cannot increase it at will. Luckily, someone just found the light switch.

Look for a button or lever or some such to turn exterior lights on. If I find one, pull it, obviously. If I manage to somehow do all that without screwing something up, look outside and try to find something with which to tell where I'm at!
(heads, success)
You find a row of small screens, evidently shorted out and covered in a dried magenta stain, labeled "exterior cameras", and readout nearby with the words "Proximity alert: exterior lights disabled. Please use manual override." However, you also find a control panel labeled "sonar"...

Climb down and search for a light switch.
(heads, success)
After pointing the flashlight around, you find a large switch and pull it. White strip lights come on in the side of the room, lighting it moodily but still relatively brightly.

I always seem to miss you somehow :-[

:-\
Examine the thingy?
(tails, but I honestly can't think of a good way to fail this.)
It appears to be a large machine, with 2 large tanks of some kind of artificial stretchy material, being rhythmically expanded and contracted by a set of pistons. Several tubes and pipes lead into and out of the machinery.

Proclaim myself Baldwin the Homunculus "Why are you guys ignoring me!"
(tails, failure)
They ignore this as well.

Search the room.
(heads, success)
The room is rounded slightly along the bottom, somewhat like the inside of a boat. It's decently sized, but there isn't much room to walk around in with all the pipes and wires everywhere. There's a door in the back, opposite the large machine, with a trail of dried magenta spatters leading from it towards a ladder into the hatch above. It looks like there's a very small access hatch behind the machine, but it would be tricky to get to.
