You step over the completely exsanguinated figure with the dismembered leg, and follow the bendy corridor to the source of the bright light. It seems astounding, given the red dimness of the rest of the ship so far. As it turns out, the light comes from white lamps along the ceiling and walls of a room roughly the size of the bunk-tube room behind you. A large machine fills most of the room, connected to the back wall, and if you had to guess you'd say it was either an engine or a generator (or reactor). Several tubes and pipes come out of the walls into it, including a couple of large transparent ones on the floor and ceiling containing a dark red fluid.
Attempt to create new user credentials for yourself so you can go down there without getting your head-device shot off. Search room plan for maintenance hatch

The computer system is strange, not seeming built with the concept of "users" in mind at all. It doesn't seem designed to recognize people interfacing with it at all. Why you find it strange, you can't say, but you feel as if computers usually aren't this way.

However, in reviewing the room plan, you remember about the downwards hatch supposedly located in the tube-bunk room.

"Door's Open!" you say, though the other person seems to have lost interest and gone to investigate the corridor in the back.
