Lots of dakka like Lehman russ with punisher cannon, mortal wounds especially psychic phase, stuff cancelling invulnerable saves like nullzone and deathhex.
With index imperial asassins which REALLY BUFFED THEM and gave them FABULOUS STRATEGEMS( come on, eversor fighting twice and his explosion buffed and him punishing you with shooting attack for falling back), eversor and vindicare may come in handy( vindicare now gets to roll against target not killed by his shot, 2+ mortal wound, then 3+,then 4+ ,5+ ..... and he got stratagem for shooting one more time, so that annoying cryptek or overlord gets good chances of being popped in one shot)

Initiative isn't a thing in the current edition. Units that charged this turn fight first, units that haven't charged are activated alternating between the player whose turn it is and their opponent. Units with Always Fights First force charged units to fight alternating and always go before normal units that haven't charged.

The main way to kill Necrons at the moment is more just to kill them entirely. Wipe the unit with anti-infantry weapons and they can't get back up. They're no harder to kill than Space Marines, so any weapons that kill them will do just fine against Necrons. Against a basic warrior S5 AP-1 is plenty to wipe them with enough shots, but that's obviously army dependant.

Non-jokingly, mortal wounds are amazing against Necron. Not only are most of their troops 1 wound, but any unit with Quantum Shielding (Basically, If you take more than 1 damage from an attack, roll a die. If you roll under the amount of damage taken you COMPLETELY IGNORE IT!) doesn’t get the bonus, as mortal wounds are applied 1 at a time.

Its fancy custodes bolters with FABULOUS AMMO, its still a bolter, but bolt explodes into tiny ball of plasma.
Also they sort of don't blow up in your hands.
