Looking at the current codex they barely mention Kroot, what little they do mention focuses on them being close quarters specialist cannibals, despite the current codex being the one in which they stopped being good at close quarters fighting. 

There's no mention at all of their peculiar evolution, which leads me to assume it's like the chaos gods good sides, it's still there but GW aren't giving it any space in the main text of the codex anymore.

theoretically the rest of band because they got adapted to that stuff by being close to Jurgen for quite a while before (not saying that they are fully immune but the initial shock didin't happen because they were already in the souless field generated by him).

The only one who was used to Jurgen was Cain. The tech priest and the stormtroopers they were with weren't used to his aura with the former not even being from their regiment. Furthermore, ALL of them, bar Jurgen, were caught by the initial shock. The stormtroopers who had stoically and unemotionally witnessed the deaths of their friends minutes before ran in terror. The tech priest was a gibbering wreck. Ciaphas himself was paralysed with fear. The tech priest and Cain only shook off the fear once Jurgen's aura started covering them.

The disorientation is harder to explain but I guess that Pariahs, as beings created to fuck Psykers up, could have some kind of Necron technology that let's them detect souls, so coming across empty field similar to theirs proably made them think that there is another Pariah there (obviously active) and thus the place counts as checked and stuff.

No, you're stretching. It was obviously a Warp-using effect that was retconned later because it made no sense for the Necrons to have it.

Edit: Thanks for digging it up, though. Turns out that's the one Alex Stewart book I've yet to read.

Unless he did a phenomenal job of hiding it for years, he isn't a bigot.  He can be snarky at times, that's all.
Apparently he referred to someone as a cord of wood, in what some say was part of a joke taken too far, and that was it for him.  I haven't seen the post, because this forum's moderating "staff" doesn't have time for more than just delete/warn/ban (since it's one person with a full time job of writing the most intricate simulator ever).

He moderated the religion thread, and homosexuality came up all the time there.  He commented on it multiple times and was never even close to hateful.

Sorry for off-topic, but I avoided the discussion when it happened in WTF.  Held off instead of posting angry.  I just think it's a shame, and the forum just needs dedicated moderators instead of a single overworked superhuman.

Ah, fuck it then, maybe Alex is just retarded and misinterpeted Necron lore, because as far as I'm concerned the "fear" stuff is completly plausible if Pariahs were just blanks. Either Alex or (in-universe) Amberley derped out, I guess.
