I'm looking at the gameplay for Dawn of War 3 and I don't see what all the fuss is about. It looks like a fun game and seeing the Knight mow down so many Eldar with dakka is gratifying.

Yes.
Though I must admit that Gabriel is way too lively (>JUMPING) for a someone in Terminator armour with an exceptionally heavy hammer.

Maybe it's possible because about 85% of his body is bionics?

Just no. Nooooooooooo! Sweet Emperor NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Hell, if it was at least Tartaros Pattern, but it's clearly the regular one.
It's not. It's something completly different. It's a fucking mashup of various patterns and it somehow makes even less sense than usual if you think about how the guy sits inside. To be honest, He's a Chapter Master now, so it's proably "gifted" Emperor's spare armour or something.

Meh, the game aesthetics don't work for me. All it too bright and pretty.... also it's irrational but they didn't make the game I would like them to do (basically master chapter or something even bigger), instead they made yet another beer and pretzels real time tactics game with no real strategic deep.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!

I DON'T LIKE SUPARHEVVIES.

That is basically my only gripe re: DoW3.

Other than that it looks cool..

Remind me, did many of the bloody magpies actually go kaos? Or did they just nixx the bigbad at the end of retribution and everything was hunkydory?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

It's implied the blood ravens that did go to chaos were purged in the SM ending of retribution.

They were equally as powerful as Land Raiders.
None of this 'Twice your unit size, squish everything just by being here' bs.

That being said, RTS's are much better balanced than tabletops, so this might still be K.
Unless every game just ends up being 'rush knight and win' in which case I shall write a strongly worded letter to relic which shall be illegible due to the fecal stains.

Not a lot. The magpie heresy was of the deep conspiracy style. Kyras, and his chosen squads of secret heretics. You might remember that one mission where you gain corruption unless you carefully attack only traitor squads, who are amongst a large host of loyal Sanguine Corvids that think you're the traitors.

Actually, it was known since first trailer that it will be the... "Big 3". Only Eldar, Orks and Space Marines, unless they're hiding some heresy for bonus suprise points.
