I finished my first mini from the Calth box. Chaosified Contemptor ready to take skulls for Khorne.  :D

It provides more space to hang skulls from.  :P

Though in case it was mostly to help cover the gnarled area where I carved off the original symbols on the chest, and I felt it somewhat reminiscent of the tusks worn by Chaos Terminators.

Not really sure what to do with the rest of my Calth box. Probably going to use the tactical marines as 30k World Eaters or Iron Warriors, but I'm tempted to use the terminators as 40k chaos terminators, if only because they'd look quite striking and have lots of lightning claws available.

Contemptor pattern least favourite pattern, IMO.
There must be something which appeals to me about a box on legs.

Same here, but the Contemptor has really nice rules that normal Helbrutes just can't match.

Which is to say that it can actually do stuff other than die.  :P

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Speaking about helbrutes, I kind of stumbled upon this some days ago. I'm not sure if I like the idea, but there's something strangely cool about giving dreadnoughs/helbrutes muscly, slender legs and long arms.

"Third War for Armageddon
Main article: Third War for Armageddon
The Third War for Armageddon occurred fifty years after the Second War. Ghazghkull Thraka returned, leading a second Waaagh! smashing into Armageddon. Commissar Yarrick and many of the heroes who fought for the planet before were called into battle again.
Aftermath
Although the 3rd Armageddon War is over (with the Imperium winning a narrow victory), fighting still continues on the planet. Ghazghkull has left the planet and continues to plague neighboring Imperial worlds. He is being pursued by Yarrick with a full Black Templars crusade at his back. The Orks have come to regard Armageddon as a kind of Valhalla, where they can always come to find a good fight, and the Imperium must still send more troops to battle to keep the planet in Imperial hands while Ork reinforcements continue to flood in.[3]"

Why is it considered a narrow victory? The war is currently going on and declaring any type of victory or defeat is premature. Did something happen that's not being said. Does anyone know anything about this war.

Narrow victory because the Imperials still control the planet and the main Ork offensive was blunted. The fighting going on despite the narrow victory having been achieved is probably just a nature of the Orks being very hard to eradicate, like ceiling fungus

Yeah. It sounds like the ork reinforcements flooding in are not organized in the slightest. So they aren't a major threat to the planet, but the Imperium still has to maintain a heavy garrison to kill them all before they get out of hand. You can't really call it a war if one side is just a disorganized jumble of guys going to the planet for fun and wanton destruction after all. It'd be much more accurate to call it a spring break or tourist season. :P

As I recall, there are no instances of planets being completely cleansed of Orks without Extermanatus. At best, you can whittle them down to a feral colony that's more Gretchen then Boyz.
