I thought the point of 40k was to cater to nearly any sci-fi fan, and give them something to enjoy in one big universe.

Oh yeah that and sell a lot of overpriced models. Not arguing.

Indeed, propaganda is only fun in proportion.

I have serious question that requires a serious answer from this thread. In what situations would the optimal strategy be to send in Skitarii and have them initiate rad warfare protocols?

*shrug*
Seeing as skit vanguard use rad rifles and wear irradiated plate, I'd say that every situation is that strategy.

Unless by 'rad warfare' you mean like a scorched earth policy or something?

By rad warfare do you mean
A: Nuke Everything
B: Look rad as fuck while killing bitches
C: Something to do with actual tactics

Because the answers for A and B are 'yes'.

The one that you don't really need the place used by anyone in next few dozen years at least. Their Rad-weapons are so fucking rad that Skitarii after a while cause death to regular humans just by being around because they're so irradiated and using the guns to lay down covering fire basically turns the place into radiation storm and everything there dies, be it Tyranid, Marine, Skitarii or even fucking Necron proably because >SCIENCE.

They're basically localized Exterminatuses, at least going by fluff.

All I know is that Lucius' Skitarii killed an entire world in a month with it when they went to a planet and suddenly heretics everywhere. They managed to retrieve the loyalist Astropaths from the planet too.

The main problem of Rad-weapons is that nothing can fight alongside Skitarii and hostages are dead.
Because when I said that Skitarii are so irradiated that they can cause death in minutes or even seconds to unshielded humans just by standing next to them, I meant it.
So they proably used other guns.

Something I have been wondering.

Why didn't any of the primarchs think it would be a good idea to rule the galaxy with the remaining primarchs and stay on the relatively safe earth instead of putting themselves at absurd risk by continuing to fight on the frontline and fuck off into the warp and stuff.

The remaining ones were mostly driven mad by grief or had a huge desire for penitence.

It's also noteworthy that most of them were not governors, they were warriors and leaders of men.

Of the ones left after the Heresy, only Dorn and Guilleman would be decent statesmen, and Dorn wanted to die in a final act of redemption for him and his legion for their failure to protect the Emperor, and Guilleman wanted to go hunt down the traitor primarchs whenever they were in realspace, which is how he ultimately got mortally wounded by Fulgrim.

The Khan was never one to hide, nor was Leman Russ, both went hunting for their enemies as was their way.

Corax went into seclusion because he couldn't cope with the amount of lives he ruined trying to mass produce Ravenguard to fight the traitors during the Heresy.

Vulkan left to do... something. Not sure what. Presumably making something or fighting something.

Guilleman did spend some time leading the Imperium before handing over the reins to go fight the Alpha Legion in the Eastern Fringe though. Presumably he left to protect Ultramar because he ultimately cared more for his personal empire than the main one.
