Well I know (by first hand) of people playing battles with rc planes here, where they in fact destroy their planes as they crash them in mid air. Here, where an ac plane cost as much as a motorcycle or a third of a car. They do it monthly.

So it doesn't seem so farfetched to me. The main difference is that you don't spend countless hours painting the plane. But in money is the same if not more.

I suppose that with high enough engineering skills, constructing rc planes may be much cheaper then that.

That's kind of part and parcel of the RC hobby though. You drive that stuff around and it gets damaged. My friend was into RC cars back in the day and he'd wreck it and fracture the outer chassis just farting around on our street. They're modular so they're not a ton of work to put back together (I imagine RC planes are similar.)

Figs are kinda different though. They're works of art and display pieces more than functional objects that fulfill a purpose. Destroying them intentionally seems way more ridiculous than destroying something that has "crash" as part of its life cycle :P

Well sure. I pointed that out. In the last phrase. Or I think I did. English is not my mother language.

I got a gun idea, it's essentially a torrent flamer comboed into a normal gun. For now it's for Space Marines.
It has to hit normally (not scatter/based on BS) and if it hits you can place a flamer template centered on the closest model of the unit you're shooting at to your unit.
Types

(Insert name of gun) Pistol: S5 AP- Assault 1, 12" (Pistol)

(Insert name of gun) Launcher: S5 AP- Assault 2, 24" (Special Weapon)

(Insert name of gun) Gatler: S5 AP- Assault 4, 30" (Terminator weapon, Heavy weapon(?))

(Insert name of gun) Corroder: S5 AP - Poison 4+, Assault 4, 18" (Dreadnought weapon, Heavy weapon(?))

(Insert name of gun) Disintegrator: S5 AP4 Rapid Fire 1, 30" (Vehicle weapon, maybe on a Land Speeder?)

Ravenger: S6 AP- Assault 6 30" (Heavier Vehicle weapon, maybe Land Raider or Predator?)

Slayfall: S10 AP- Heavy 5 30" (Heavy vehicles, probable Superheavies)

So, stupid idea or not?
Well, the S10 one is a bit silly, and multiple shots in template weapons isn't a common practice as far as I know. How does the template get centered?

One interesting way to do it might be a weapon designed to detonate at stand-off distance, with a highly shaped charge so that out centered the larger of the circles on the nearest model, with the thinner side being placed as far from the firing model as possible (basically do it makes a line away). Would make sense as to it's higher strength value, too.

As it is, it's a bit schizophrenic. Do like the idea though.

No, I understand what it's there for. I just don't think it should be there. There's no Flamers above Str 7, and I'm pretty sure there's none above Str 6, actually.

But yes, as it is, it's just a Torrent weapon with larger range, more shots, higher Str, and maybe no AP. Which is a bit too strong, I think. Multishot templates are really powerful.

I mean, the big part here is the question of what the weapon does. How does it operate, what does this make it good at killing, and then find stats to go off of for that.

I meant lore-wise. What is it. What does it use to hurt things. Fire? An explosion?

My all time second favourite weapon has to be the Leman Russ's Punisher. S5, no AP - but you get 20 shots. Completely obliterates infantry, anything it looks at will die if it's not tough as nails.

First place has to go to 3rd ed Monolith doomplate. S9 AP3 in a large blast template at 24" range, it's no different to your standard battle cannon equivalent - except that anything hit in the direct centre of the pie template is hit at AP1 (or was it AP2? Either way - bad news). I just loved the idea of a giant "fuck you all and fuck you in particular" cannon. Plus I'm quite sentimental when I hit Yarrick dead centre - seeing him die, only to come back to life and wreck my Mono.

What's the ImpKnight flamer again? I know it's a 16"-er but nothing else.

Well, if you look at other weapons with no AP, they tend to either be very weak, or not the typical means of injuring someone, such as Tesla Blasters. In fact, if it was an electrical charge, like a Mechanicus arc caster but made into shell form, that would be quite interesting, as well as explain the non-typical method. The Corroder and Disintegrator wouldn't really work as it stands currently, and you might have to adjust the way it works a bit more with a unique special rule concerning how it deals with wounds or something, but it would be a very interesting way to do it, and it would more or less fit in as it's own special weapon system. Maybe, instead of getting more shots, necessarily(some could, but maybe they couldn't all go on a single model), since this seems like a single-shot weapon, the larger versions get different template options, or can choose which direction the template faces when it hits, along with some small Str increases, Haywire on a version or two(or all, since it'd only hit the vehicle per actual hit, really). The most powerful version might just be Str 6 or 7, but get a lot of shots, with the special rule that each additional hit past the first can be centered on the fat part of the template of where the last hit was, in the direction you choose (but of course the fat part of the new template can't be closer to the thin part of the old template than the thin part of the new template(yes I know that was confusing, basically think of it like how torrent currently works ish).

Some Wh40k version of Space Station 13. Would be proably the perfect thing ever if only the only server I know of wouldn't be such piece of utter garbage.

Why server is garbage? Did you get turned into servitor for hacking doors 4 rounds in a row?

Whats that?
Thats archangel station - wh 40 k conversion for space station 13 game.
There is ice world- archangel 4, it has necron catacombs.
Inquisition wants to loot the necrons and sets up research outpost there.
You play as one of characters on this outpost.( you create character and select one of the jobs in the roster)
The outpost tends to attract tyranid invasions, plague marines and stuff, so most likely during round you will have to ENDURE.

What the? Didn't we canonically establish that Humans can't inhabit Nekron worlds because "It would be weird?" :P

Joke aside, I don't think the Necrons can be reasonably researched anyway. The sheer number of safeties that stop it (from teleporters to a self-destruct if the teleporter is somehow prevented)
