I keep forgetting you dont know fancy sounding english words that mean the same thing as non fancy english words.

Hehe, english is quite singular in its proliferation of vocabularian redundancy.

Translation: English has lots of words that mean the same thing, but are longer and/or fancier.

You got it. Thieving Americans stole our language once so we made it so complicated nobody else ever will.

That sir is a blatant lie, India has no kangaroos with which to throw on a barbecue.

Australia, the only country to eat its own coat of arms.

Question for Blitz, due to reading through the IC thread:

Are global chat and quest windows going to be a thing?

Asking about the first because, it, well... Makes having to deliver messages or meet to discuss things next to obsolete, since you can talk through it - and if there's global, chances are there's private or "guild" chat.

Second, quest windows. Would it not, for the sake of immersion, since this is VR, be more of a book?

 :-\

Just asking, because windows in a VR game would really be immersion breakers.

I can edit my post if quest windows aren't a thing.

I was just about to post about it XD

Seriously though, we gotta remember this is VR, and VR means immersion.

Quest books.
And while global chat is a thing, you gotta remember there is 500,000 players here. That's a lot of people talking at the same time.

Yes. So many voices, it's like you're in a classroom, but worse.
Unless it's text.
In which case, all I can see in my mind is text bubbles popping up over characters' heads.

Also, people can't clutter up the chat if they're dead.
Like when people ask what how the elves in DF would react, and you tell them it doesn't matter because they're all gonna die anyways, so they can't complain.
Except for this, it is a less reasonable solution.

You kinda have to have global chat and that kinda thing. Can you imagine if you had to walk around talking to each person individually? It'd take months IRL just to manage to recruit a guilt doing it 1 person at a time considering the number of players we have.

Personally id limit it to maybe zone wide chat and telepathic comms to your friends list and guild members.
Makes it that little bit more challenging and realistic.

Or some kind of PDA system for sending messages. Something strapped to your wrist or something that you can use for it so that it's something everybody would understand.
