Not really, a perception system is perfectly reasonable. Perception is exactly how you judge people in real life.

Gut instinct, body language, facial expression, voice pitch. If the game has a system that will represent that then I have no issues with it not having a color system. But then if your playing thieves you deserve it anyway because IC wise your getting real people killed for your own gain.

That doesn't even require a skill set or stats. That's a semi-normal part of games like this.
Gut instinct is your own. You >are< the player.

Don't do this. Don't be the holier-than-thou person, especially not with false assumptions. There is no guarantee that someone, player or otherwise, will die because a few coins vanished, or some food, or a potion, etc.

But it's a perfectly reasonable assumption. That health potion you stole might have saved the guys life in a fight except you'd taken it. When you steal from a person you might be causing them to die. You have to treat it as if your stealing from one of us not from an NPC. It's a RP game every single npc player is equal to us as far as the games concerned.

It kind of does, this game doesn't include charisma because charisma wouldn't work on 500,000 real people because a population has many different ways of thinking. Perception could in theory but I don't know if it will be included or not.

Key word being >might<. It might have done Jack all, if they didn't have time to do it. They might notice it's gone, and buy a new one. They might have more than enough. For every assumption you're going to make about them dying, there are just as many, if not more, that they won't.

If we're playing ourselves, and you're playing yourself, (note, controlling the character with your mind and thus likely having the same habits in terms of body language), and they're playing themselves and the last thing you said is true, a true perception system is absurd in itself because you automatically know what they're thinking despite having different viewpoints, body language, etc.

That depends if the game will translate body language and facial expression. If it's an advanced game and will accurately show it then you don't need the skill because you have the natural ability although you'd still need some kind of skill for it because some people are far better at reading people then others.

So Blitz would need a system to simulate how good or bad people are at it.

Have we decided for sure that it's VR with a built in "you die" rule? Or are we still open for "physically transported to a game world via mysterious means?"

Well I asked and got it confirmed days ago that if you die you die. We're stuck in a game with other real people so unless 500,000 people got teleported in has to be vr.
