Yes you can use whatever tile set you want, i just personally perfer ironhands, but you can play in ASCII if you want.

or maybe they were in fact bandits or something.since invaders are dragged from the populations,it's a possibility.although i admit i haven't played the new version yet.i'm still waiting for dfhack and a stable version to come out.

That, and the fact my screen said *seige* at the top and had the siege message.  I thought bandits only ambushed?

I honestly have no idea, if not i included 40.04 as the second post.  I remember the release notes said it should work in theory.  I'ld be happy to know if it does, i don't have the save on me at the moment, posting from work.

thanks.got some errands to run,so i will start today at night(well,my time zone's night anyway),and i will most probably upload my turn and my save tomorrow.oh,and the save worked perfectly.and not one of our dwarves has parents,or any family for that matter...
