And that... does not work? Is placing block walls over block floors permitted? It seems that walls have to be designed one at a time. Box designing will be attempted for the higher floors instead.
Constructed floor count as a construction, and so they prevent walls from being built over them. However a wall built a level below will provide a non-constructed floor for the level above. ( Essentially, people can walk on the top of the wall.)
If you want to, say, build a multi-layered version of this building efficiently and quickly, here are steps i would use: (your milleage may vary)
1-Designate the walls for the new level. suspend their construction. (just move around with arrows along the walls and press S on each one)
2-Box designate the floor. since the walls are already designated as ''constructions'' no floor will be place there, so your flooring will fill anything that isnt gonna be a wall.
3- Build a staircase up to the new level. It works best if its next to a wall. (say, the same staircase you plan to use to move to the new floor)
4 Using the walls below, your succubabes will walk around the construction, and place the floor starting outward and moving inward. This process works especially well if you have a large workforce, different succubi will go to different spots atop the wall to build the floor next to it.
5-Once the floor is done, resume the construction of the walls (arrows around +s) and they will move to build the surrounding walls, using the floor they just built. EXCEPTION: you want to leave a block next to each corner, and each ''T'' formation, suspended. This way the succubi will have a place to stand so they can do the corner blocks. Once a corner is finished, you can easily resume the construction of the blocks around it.
If you follow those steps, multi-level towers and dormitories should be built smoothly without any retarded pathing.
Furthermore there are two good ways to speed up this building process IMMENSELY
1- Just enable masonry on basically every succubabe doing jack shit. The building site should support many bitches working at once.
2-Alternate method, if you dont want 20 very sucky masons, and prefer to specialise your babes, is to build a stockpile really next to the staircase (like, say, fill a 5x5 area right next to the staircase leading upstairs). Enable only the stone type you want to use for this project. Then go to your main stone stockpile, and order it to give to a new stockpile (g, move to the workplace stockpile, enter) Basically what will happen is this: the iddle useless haulers will start filling the new stockpile with the needed material, and the masonesses will move two squares , grab the right rock, then build the floor/walls like 5 squares away. The masons will be focused on the job, while the useless babes will take care of hauling the materials next to their final destination. Just remove the stockpile once the project is over, and voila!
