Heh!  That's still an informative result, just for a different question.  Specifically, at what level of thirst will a dwarf violate a burrow restriction to get some delicious, refreshing booze?

Also, you can use burrow restrictions to get away with half the usual booze consumption, at the cost of an unhappy thought.  Not usually useful, since booze should be plentiful if you're doing things right, but I'm sure there's some application for this.

I thought this was a thread about food on fire and its effects on dwarves.

So all of our stocks would last 50% longer if we micromanaged only flashy people to get food and drink? It looks like you can do it even without any extra unhappy thoughts if you pay close attention.  Worth keeping in mind for emergencies.

Dwarf fortress in 50 words: You start with seven alcoholic, manic-depressive dwarves. You build a fortress in the wilderness where EVERYTHING tries to kill you, including your own dwarves. Usually, your chief imports are immigrants, beer, and optimism. Your chief exports are misery, limestone violins, forest fires, elf tallow soap, and carved kitten bone.
