Hi. I recently decided to play DF again and now its killing me. I got a new laptop with the resolution set at 1920x1080 and its murdering my df gameplay. i try and start it and its way out of proportions. there is no FPS meter at the top and everything is either too big or too small. I tried scrolling out to no avail. Please help

-Tried to use the lazynewb pack and now im using mike maydays and nothing seems to fix it

The FPS counter can be turned on in the data/init.txt file.

As for the resolution I also run DF on a 1920x1080 laptop but I'm not bothered by the graphics (then again I've only ever played on this machine so I don't have anything to compare it to). I know you can zoom in and out with the mousewheel and it changes the text size in the menus and unit lists and the like. Maybe that will help?

I have it on, What im trying to explain is that my resolution for the entire game isnt wrapping around the corners of my monitor. It is tooo far to the left top. I cant even click start or create a new world. Nothing. :/

These wiki pages may help, I think the settings you want are the [GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENX:0] & [GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENY:0] ones (in the init.txt previously mentioned).

There are both on 0, Ive tried replacing the values with 1920x1080 and it does not help at all. Im really depressed. To the person who can help me trouble shoot it id love you forever! <3 By the way, IF any of this information helps :

Have you considered trying putting the following values into "init"?
[WINDOWED:YES]

[WINDOWEDX:80]
[WINDOWEDY:25]
[FONT:curses_square_16x16.png]

that even fits on my 1280x800 screen (the game screen is exactly 1280 pixels wide though heheh)

edit: you might want a different value for Y and X=1920/16=120 instead of Y = 25 and X=80.....

Or take it out of fullscreen and just stretch your window.  windowed mode seems easier for me to work with, but YMMV.
