I just say get a crowbar, never said open it. Crowbars are great as both weapons and as tools.

And why say that at that particular time, when we where trying to figure out how to open the chamber?

Particularly when opening the thing with a crowbar was specifically mentioned before your suggestion?  :-\

Leave the room with the crowbar and see what we can find out outside the room.

You checked if everything was plugged in and checked all cables connecting the computer with the machinery, everything seems to be fine. Either this computer is damaged or there is no power. You need to find a power room first and see if there is something wrong with it.

You start searching through the room in hopes of finding a crowbar or some other useful tools. There are 3 matches lying next to one of these chambers. If you ever stumble upon a crowbar, it will be the first thing you will grab for sure.

"It's time to leave". You pull the lever and after a second or two, metal door that was blocking your way out starts to loudly slide into the wall on the right. Behind the door is a long corridor that branches to the left and right somewhere in the middle. Flickering emergency light from time to time lights the corridor, but every time it flickers off, the corridor becomes pitch black again. Huge amounts of cables are going along the ceiling of the corridor. Most of these cables are going into the left corridor and... Is that blood? Your legs start to shake as you realize that the whole corridor is covered in red residue and the stench of decay that is present in that corridor makes you dizzy. On the intersection you can see something. It looks like a corpse.

Until now everything was okay, but now you feel like you are being watched. Also, there is another lever that allows you to close the door behind you, but it means that the room with stasis chambers is not safe to hide in if something happens as it can be opened easily from outside.

EDIT: Yes, matches can be lit on anything, you are right.

The obvious course of action is to tickle the corpse. Also examine what it has on it, but mostly tickle the corpse. If it seems unimportant, prop him in the corner and name him Jeb.

Oh, and take a glance down the left corridor.
After storing the matches somewhere safe on us, where they wont get wet.
After looking down see if we can spot powerlines.

You took the matches with you. There is no reason to leave them behind but there is a problem... You don't really have any means of storing them. You don't even have a single pocket where you could put them. For now you will just hold them in your left hand.

You are slowly approaching the corpse. Your shoes keep sticking to the blood-covered floor and every time you lift your foot off the ground to make an another step, they make that characteristic ripping sound. And you have trouble breathing because of this horrible stench.

Now you can give that corpse a closer look. Just looking at it makes you want to throw up. It seems to be a corpse of a 40 years old man and it is probably decaying here for quite a long time. He is wearing a white undershirt with a giant ripped out hole in the middle of it and torn military cargo shorts, both completely soaked in blood. His torso is ripped open and most of his guts are either missing or lying around here. You see a huge amount of scratch marks all over his body. This corpse looks like it has been looted already.

You decided that you will call this corpse "Jeb", naming it made you feel a little bit better. But you aren't going to touch Jeb, even if your life depends on it, it just disgusts you beyond all your limits. This means no tickling.

You know that there might be an aggressive animal somewhere around here. But, someone has been looting through Jeb's corpse, it means that there is a chance of meeting other people here. Maybe someone could help you?

You take a glance down the left corridor. Lots of cables going along the ceiling, some of them hanging loosely, some tightened as much as they could be. Some of these are definitely cables that transmit power. Blood decorating floor and walls is also present here and the corridor ends with a wooden door.
