Can we leave the raging inferno before we shape shift more, please?

Stay far enough to prevent burns, close enough to prevent freezing.

First we need legs to move.

We have legs. Lots of them, in fact.

Through the hole and away from the fire, the many legged ball of flesh crawls. The cold and heat forcing it to shed more dead tissue, its mind slowly burning away. It shudders, most of its legs splitting and snapping, as they are reabsorbed into the mass, a chitinous growth begins to envelop the creature, shielding from the elements. The cold slowly continues to seep through although it soon stops as fur begins to sprout across the chitinous growth. It curls its remaining legs against its mass.

Sleep soon.

+1 Maybe we can dig underground to survive? It can't get any colder underground can it?

Nope, actually the temperature of snow and ice pretty much stays at the freezing point, so being buried in snow is much preferable to the artic winds that would quickly sap any warmth that is not protected by fur and fat.

Strike the snow!
Yeah. Lets get a "chill" underground igloo for ourself.

Edit:
Strange.. it did not inform me of gm-ninja-ing. Oh well, it still works as an action though ;3

.... You've doomed us all. Granted. Everyone except for traps are executed. Random sci-fi nonsense is required to be taught in schools.

The creature shudders, bones snapping as it reabsorbs its legs and part of its exoskeleton. It elongates itself, thinning widthwise and lengthening length wise before growing a series of muscles and chitinous growths along its body. Deciding it needs a way to sense the surrounding area, it grows a sensory organ, intended to smell the nearby area.

Tiring fast.
