You start out at the Belligerent Swan, a small tavern in the last city this side of the civilized lands. It's got quite the crowd tonight, with about fifteen patrons and a bard singing merrily while the owners scramble to keep up with their customers.

A young looking elf is drinking merrily at the bar. He seems to be armed as is normal for an elf. Unusually he seems armored indicating he is or was well paid for a guard.

The door opens, letting in a draft of cold night air, and a tall sallow man swathed in a flowing black robe in his mid-thirties with the look of a necromancer about him walks in. He carries a cultivated black beard, his ice-blue eyes have a far-away look to them, and a large assortment of glassware filled with mysterious fluids and powders hangs from his pack. On his chest is emblazoned in white a steaming mug, with a spoon protruding and an assortment of tubes shown in the background.

In walks a woman, dressed in plain clothes, with a holy symbol around her neck. The symbol depicts a dove superimposed onto a rising sun. She walks across the room to an empty table and orders a mug of bear, letting her brown eyes drift across the room. Despite her plain attire, it is clear that she is attractive, and she carries herself with a certainty and confidence bespeaking her position and goal.

Kyle takes himself and his cup to stand next to the woman.
"Hello my good woman. Would you like to partake in merriment with me?"

As he approaches, he notices that her hair is silver-colored. True silver, not aging silver.

"Please, my good sir, take a seat."

She gestures at the chair across from her at the table.

Kyle sits across from her beaming before speaking.
"I must admit, I've never seen a human with hair of silver, at least, not at your age."

She chuckles slightly

"Now sir, you should know better than to comment on a lady's appearance." she says with a grin, "I'm interested in what an elf like yourself is doing in this human town."
A tavern waitress brings her beer over, and she downs a good third of it.

Kyle laughs.
"What? Don't elves go on pilgrimage where you're from?"
Kyle smiles for a little more before frowning.
"And... my mistress died and I've been looking for work for a long while."

The smile leaves the woman's face.

"I'm so sorry. What happened?"

"Well, she was casting a spell and just... dropped dead. So I brought her body to a church and left town in a caravan."

She reaches across the table and briefly squeezes his shoulder,

"I'm sorry. That must have been horrible."

[kj1225]

Kyle shrugs.
"Eh, she was nice. She did use me for experimental spells though. And while not painful some of the affects were... unforeseen."
Kyle's face screws up in an amusing way.

The woman raises an eyebrow, then starts,

"Oh my apologies, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alassra, wandering healer"

Kyle nods at her with a polite smile.
"I am Kyle, son of John. I suppose I used to be a guard. Although, maybe if you want to hire me I can change it to 'am' a guard?"
